Just out of curiosity, should Leicester finish top 4 (which will happen knock on wood) what names would you fantasize / realistically expect to be joining and strengthening the Leicester squad comes next season? Had you had a different 15/16 season, the names would be slightly different i'm sure, so really just wondering what you lot expect from the board/management to bring on the table? Any particular gems you'd like to see brought in? Also, considering the name Leicester is forging itself on a national/international level, do you expect departures from some players and which ones would you let go/keep absolutely?

We won't elevate ourselves to competing with Europa League Liverpool for players as foreigners will see us similar to they did Montpellier when they one Ligue 1 five years a go. We will probably be considered as the same level as West Ham & Everton as an attractive move for players.

Thought the same, Leicester gets top 4 and it will turn into a whole different story. Everton is yesterday's news, especially if they start losing their key players hungry for better opportunities.

Equally important is if we can hang onto key players such as Vardy, Mahrez, Kante. Many others too who we'd miss if they left. I'm quietly confident no one will leave with the exception of players who are on the fringes/could be upgraded. Surely Mahrez, Vardy, Kante would want to play for us in the Champions League, they have invested so much hard work into it, remember Vardy and Mahrez have been here a while now. Of course the season isnt over yet and theres a chance we may not qualify for the Champions League

Being reasonable..... I imagine that you'll have fight off bigger clubs than Leicester for Payet in the summer. Assuming he doesn't come here, I hope you hang onto him. I don't like to see the big clubs syphoning off anyone decent and am happy to see West Ham do well, provided it's not at our expense. For us, there are 3 scenarios now (if we can exclude the disaster scenario of dropping out of European qualification altogether - 16pts ahead of 7th, so I hope we can exclude that) 1) Could still end up in Europa League - lose at Man City & Arsenal, and Man Utd could be 4pts behind us, or West Ham 5pts 2) 4th place would bring a difficult 2-game Champions League play-off that could easily leave us in the Europa League...and we could be 4th in 2 games time 3) Champions League....at least 6 European matches....but only 6 guaranteed IF we make the Champions League, I hope we DON'T massively overhaul the squad, but add a bit of quality selectively so as to build long-term: - Another top striker: Go back for Musa (CSKA Moscow)? - Another wide attacker: Yannick Bolasie? Other signings would partly depend on where the new bloke, Amartey, is mainly going to play. We could do with an upgrade at right-back, a bit more quality possession in central midfield (so as to vary our tactics, especially in Europe) and a younger centre back of good quality. I assume that Amartey is earmarked to fill one of these roles, but not sure which yet. Plus, even if we're in the Champions League, we might have to fight to hold onto Mahrez & Kante (Vardy would stay, under those circumstances, I think).
DangerFox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 I can't see us going mental crazy and trying to buy some big names. I think we'll keep and stick with most, if not all, of the current squad. We'll add some quality with a couple of players but don't expect big name signings. These players we have now have gotten us here and are obviously good enough to continue. The reason they are proving they're good enough is because these players we have are not Big Time Charlie's. Warranted now, the players have grown in reputation and quality now but we are who we are because these players. We don't have players on massive wages. Like Loic Remy, I'm glad he didn't come, stupid wages and thinks he's bigger than the team. He'd ruin our team and spirit!

I'm not so sure, if we want to attract top players we need to prove we aren't a flash in the pan, one jolly in the CL followed by a relegation battle for the remainder of the season is what players will see as a possibility if they join us (assuming we qualify for the CL). Everton are an established top flight club with a lot of history and some very good players, seemingly a manager who doesn't know how to manage them. Even with a CL spot teams will look at us and Everton and think which is the safer bet for a 4 year contract.

Exactly for one year, last season you would say I was off my rocker to be talking about the CL and the title for this season. Closest example of this happening in the PL is Blackburn winning the league and Norwich coming close, both fell away dramatically afterwards. You can even look at Liverpool, nearly won the league, fvcked it all up again. There is an established elite in this country and we are doing amazing to break it, but even if we win the league winning all the remaining games 10-0 at the start of next season we will be predicted to finish mid-table, European distractions and a freak season being given as reasons why, we will be expected by many to revert to what is perceived as our default position as part of the chasing pack, behind the established big 6. Footballers will think the same, this season was a freak, we will struggle with Europe and the weight of expectation, we can't repeat this form etc etc You will hear it all summer. I'm not saying nobody will come to us, but they will see Spurs, Liverpool, Everton Chelsea, United as a safer option, despite all their troubles this season. I'm not saying they are right, but little ol' Leicester will be written off as a one season wonder, and the pre-season predictions will have us 9th/10th.

They'd have a more realistic change of dislodging our currently 11 for a place to play in the Champions League than if they joined a club like Man City (EG Fabian Delph).

We'd need an upgrade at right back as well and I can only think of maybe Callum Chambers to slip in there. Ter Stegen Chambers - Hinteregger - Dragovic - Fuchs Mahrez - Drinky - Kante - Albrighton Vardy - Aboubakar Filth.
