GaelicFox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 What a few weeks on the road and at home We got 6 points the 9 points over last 3 games and we remain top I'm pretty sure 100% of us would have taken that before the games started Our team never die and it took a sending off to beat us We have become a huge threat to the big boys and the reference point for that fact was visible after the game today , Arsenal did a lap of honour ! A lap of honour for beating 10 men Leicester City in 95th minute Wow we are now HUGE ! The next 3 games Norwich , west brom and Watford ...what's the "I'll be happy with that" point total from those 3 matches ? 7 or 9 ?
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Happy with 6 points. Nature in which we got them was shit, though.
GaelicFox Posted 14 February 2016 Author Posted 14 February 2016 Happy with 6 points. Nature in which we got them was shit, though.I thought the 6 points were earned fantastically It was the robbing of the last 1 or 3 was the shit bit for me Was that what you mean ?
LJS Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I'm delighted. I think we can get nine from the next three but imagine we'll drop some points somewhere. I'll go for us beating Norwich and Watford but failing to breakdown Pulis' mob and drawing nil all. We'll gain points on our rivals over the next four or five games.

Fridgechef Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Average of 2pts a game. Can't complain too much with that!
GaelicFox Posted 14 February 2016 Author Posted 14 February 2016 Average of 2pts a game. Can't complain too much with that! If we keep that up we will go very close !
Webbo Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I'm not happy today but looking at the bigger picture I can't complain. There was a thread before this run of games started and not many said we'd get 6 points.
GaelicFox Posted 14 February 2016 Author Posted 14 February 2016 No no no no no no no no no no! (THERES NO LIMIT) Yes!!! I'm not happy today but looking at the bigger picture I can't complain. There was a thread before this run of games started and not many said we'd get 6 points. Most webbo thought 4 or 5 was going to be hard work !
Tuna Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Things are great, our lads are a resilient bunch and will bounce back. When we are lifting the trophy at Stamford Bridge we'll have forgotten about today.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 6 points from those 3 games is an excellent return!I think todays events will galvanise us.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Very impressed with how well we've done in these 3 games against high quality opposition. 2 wins and 1 lost, 6pts, that's great to be honest. We're still top and a Champions League spot looks on the cards (hopefully).
Buzzell Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 To think that we would of all been happy with just 3 points going into the Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal games, to then manage to get 6 points and be disappointed that we lost to Arsenal and still be top of the league
Grey Fox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I'm happy with the 6 points over all. I actually lumped Stoke in as well and was looking for 8 out of 12. We got 9 so I'm pleased with that. I'm not happy that we were 1-0 up away to the Arse and then the ref decided to spoil the game though. 11 v 11 and I think we would have had at least another point. Add the fact that we lost with the last kick of the game to a main title rival, then our other main title rival also won and it makes today a very bad day. But taking the last 3/4 games as a whole, I think most of us would have taken this many points before hand. I certainly would.
Finchy Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Absolutely delighted with the points return. Couldn't have hoped for much better than that realistically. Just gutted with the timing of what happened today, really really hope it doesn't knock our confidence with such a great run of fixtures to come.
Raw Dykes Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 The cruelest way to lose at the end of the 3 difficult matches, but a great points return and 3 good performances. I would have been happy with 3 draws. Delighted we're still top and looking forward to seeing how we handle the rest of the season.
LJS Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 The disappointment in losing to Arsenal is the context rather than the result itself. We were so good until the sending off and I'd have backed us to extend our lead had we stayed 11 vs 11. I've said elsewhere that today's performance has been the one to convince me that we are genuine contenders. We've just played two of our title rivals away from home and bettered them both for the entire period in which we had eleven men on the field. That tells me something about how good we are
richardsfoxes Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Delighted where we are i think what hurt the most from the arsenal game was that it was so late, if Giroud slots that chance away that kasper saved no complaints but other than that im looking forward to Norwich and im glad we have a run of home games now, lets just enjoy the rest of the season, hopefully if Daniel is fit he can start at right back really looking forward to watching him play.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 I'm happy. We are now totally out the other end of our tough run of fixtures and we've done it and finished 2 points clear. If we don't win it from here then its not because we didn't give ourselves the perfect platform to do so. No on would have predicted we'd still be top with daylight a couple of months ago. Personally, I'll still be over the moon wherever we finish now. You'd say a top 4 spot is very likely at this stage and that in itself is still unreal. I can't help but look at our fixtures though and think that no matter what this Arsenal result today, it was never going to be the deciding factor of if we win the league or not. Our ability to despatch teams in the next 8 weeks or so that will mostly (you'd imagine) sit and defend will decide everything. If we can win 5 or 6 of the next 9 before the final 3 of Man United, Everton and Chelsea, then we will be in with a shout right till the death. I couldn't ask any more than that.
Matt Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 Said i'd have been ecstatic with 5 points before Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal so for me to sit here now and be disappointed with 6 points shows how well we're doing really, disappointed isn't really the right word, i'm not with the points return, i'm disappointed in the circumstances of today. Out of the next 3, they all look winnable but in reality we're not going to win them all so i'll be happy with 7 points. Pretty important though, we have on paper the easiest run, we have to make the most of it.
Kendal Fox Posted 14 February 2016 Posted 14 February 2016 All things considered, yes. 6 points from those 3 games is still satisfying. I just hope that the last gasp disappointment of today's game doesn't linger in the minds of the players. If I remember rightly, Arsene Wenger, of his own volition, started talking about Leicester being under pressure in several pre-match press conferences, going back 3 weeks or so. Not saying that had any bearing, if anything it served to highlight how insecure he was about us, but this game against Norwich is crucial, crucial that we get the 3 points. Do that and Arsenal and Spurs will be 5 points behind until the following day, before being able to restore, assuming they both win again.

That tells me something about how good we are You're absolutely right. It wouldn't have stung so much today if we hadn't been in front and looked the better side before the sending off. I wouldn't have been so gutted at the final whistle if we had been outplayed 11 v 11 or hadn't scored first. Games with last minute deciding goals make losses or draws feel a lot worse than others, even though the result is exactly the same.
