Guest Col city fan Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 I'm sure I read Shimla Pinks is about to reopen? Could be the time to go there..all new, refurbished, will be looking to impress etc. London Road.
Haydos Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Go for a South-Indian style one if you can, much nicer food.
isaidno Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Paddy Martens is the best I have been to by far, but you have to book well in advance
Soar Fox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Don't bother with the usual restaurants, Mem saab, dine India, Lilu etc Try places that don't always look the nicest. You'll have much better food. The meadows Beamount leys, Himilaya at crown hills, The Clowes on Portsmouth road, The woolpack on Catherine street. You won't be disappointed I can assure you.
notnow john Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Kayal is very good,as others have said, the food is not mainstream but the staff are really helpful and friendly. You may love the atmosphere but at busy times it's crowded and noisy,if you're after something more intimate ,Lilu is worth a go.

My girlfriend used to work at Himilaya and I can vouch for the place. Might be the best curry I've had.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Booked Paddy's Marten Inn for my (sort of) stag do. It had better be good
Tom's Pasta Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Went to Blue Peter bar restaurant at the weekend on Melton Road, superb curry best I've had for a long while

Crown Hills especially.
Rincewind Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Had a decent takeaway curry from Mirch on Sunday. Vegetarian but spicy.
rico Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Not this place! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3537652/Swindon-takeaway-chef-prepared-food-wiping-bottom-bare-hands-doesn-t-use-toilet-paper-cultural-reasons.html

marko Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Paddy's Marten Inn is excellent. The chicken machoosi is a personal favourite.
merlin1969 Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 I'm sure I read Shimla Pinks is about to reopen? Could be the time to go there..all new, refurbished, will be looking to impress etc. London Road. Tell them why it shut
merlin1969 Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 Woolpack off Catherine street is excellent and the best I think is The Curry Fever .. Melton Road a bit expensive but your paying the the quality of the meat. Methi Lamb is simply amazing.
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 I've heard the Spice Bazzar on welford road is meant to be really good. Anyone ever been before?
Bayfox Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 I've heard the Spice Bazzar on welford road is meant to be really good. Anyone ever been before? If it was that good he wouldn't be giving away a 1000 free curries
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 If it was that good he wouldn't be giving away a 1000 free curries Oh was that the one that was in the paper didn't realise. Just seen someone had been on Twitter after yesterday's game and said it was good.
le4foxforever Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Paddy st martens, off catherine st. I think jamie oliver even did a show there. For cheap, good food, chaai pani on belgrave is great for the low prices. I'd recommend blue peter as well.
SemperEadem Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 Which do folks feel is the best up London Road way? Back In Leicester tonight for a few beers and hopefully a decent curry.
Samilktray Posted 7 June 2017 Posted 7 June 2017 I went to The Wheel in Rearsby last week and despite a couple members of staff being a bit douchebaggy the food was terrific.

Rated the Mumbai Inn last time I went in, was about 18 months ago mind. Curry House seems to have gone downhill since it moved up the road.
