GaelicFox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Strong rumours in Ireland that MON might be returning to club football with Forest http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3560561/Republic-Ireland-manager-Martin-O-Neill-admits-not-renew-current-deal-linked-Nottingham-Forest.html
LanguedocFox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 He'd be crazy to take a chance on that: Forest is a toxic club at the moment.
GaelicFox Posted 27 April 2016 Author Posted 27 April 2016 He'd be crazy to take a chance on that: Forest is a toxic club at the moment. I agree but he lives local still I believe and the history is there Who knows he might buy the club with some of his buddies
Fox92 Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 He doesn't do returns, how many times has he said this. He'll never come back here; he'll no go back to Forest.
Captain... Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 He doesn't do returns, how many times has he said this. He'll never come back here; he'll no go back to Forest. I think there is a difference between returning for a second spell as a manager and managing a club after being a player. He played for Norwich twice and then managed them, although that was a disaster. I don't know what his situation is with RoI but if he is looking to come back to club football it would appeal, he probably wouldn't get any of the Prem jobs in the summer, Watford and Everton look the most likely to be looking for a new manager, but he doesn't seem like a Pozzo appointment, Everton is possible, but I think they will want a bigger name. Looking in the Championship Forest are decent sized and could make a fist of it, but Fawaz is a right nob, if he is interested I don't think the fact he used to play for them will put him off, more likely that Fawaz is just impossible to work with.
Leicesterpool Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I'm not surprised he'd eventually go back there as manager but timing wise I do question, due to the current situation at Forest.
atomicfox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I heard this one last week, reeks of wishful thinking/bullshite to me.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 The chairman isn't someone O'Neill would work under, he is too interfering with team matters
shen Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Don't go martin Meh, why not? Are we sad he managed us after having been part of Forest legacy? Are we unhappy at being captained by a Forest-man in the shape of Morgan? Let's not pretend to care.
Guest MattP Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I'd be suprised if he could still do the business in club management these days, that said if we win the league I wouldn't mind the chance to goad Forest fans shortly so I'd almost hope they did well for a bit.
deejdeej Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 It's not like we never knew his forest connections. Wouldn't be bothered if he went there one bit. He's not a great club manager anymore anyway.
Kitchandro Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 Meh, why not? Are we sad he managed us after having been part of Forest legacy? Are we unhappy at being captained by a Forest-man in the shape of Morgan? Let's not pretend to care. I would care if he didn't have a Forest connection before he came to us.
shen Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 I would care if he didn't have a Forest connection before he came to us. Does it outweigh what they have done for us?
Stevosevic Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 They can have him to be honest as he's past it at club level. His decision making at Sunderland was woeful.
