Parafox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 I'm not sure if this has been raised as a topic already but, we should mention the groundstaff at the KP. Every game has been played on a fantastic surface and when seen from above on the TV the patterns are amazing. The detail is extraordinary. How did they get theose stars cut into the grass on Sunday? Well done to all the groundstaff, your work hasn't gone unoticed
David Hankey Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 It's like playing at Wembley every home game. Well done to all concerned.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Every time we are at home on the tele the commentators mention how good the pitch looks
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Yep, great post. The pitch is consistently magnificent at home games and top marks to the ground staff for providing this for the players. Some of the patterns are excellent.
FireFox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Is it true we can only have horizontal and vertical line patterns for Champions League games?
goose2010 Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 It's like playing at Wembley every home game. Well done to all concerned. have you seen the Wembley pitch?! this is about 10 times better than it!
eddiemar Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Yeah , and its not just the stadium pitch , the training ground ground pitches are always of the highest standard . I think we have one of the smallest teams in the league ( there's only 7 of them I think), compared to nearer 20 for the likes of spurs Pity they wern't invited on one of the open top busses yesterday...there was enough space with 4 busses, but then there's always next year when we parade the champions league trophy!!!
David Hankey Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 have you seen the Wembley pitch?! this is about 10 times better than it! By comparison to the old Filbert Street pitch it is!!
Parafox Posted 17 May 2016 Author Posted 17 May 2016 Is there an award for groundstaff? If so ours should win hands down.
Oxfordlcfc Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Yeah I agree our lawn has been perfect all season and I think it was spurs pitch I noticed that had bare patches near the corners to me theres no excuse for any of the let's say top end teams to have patches like that all the money that clubs make and sign players for inflated prices in what is the best league in the world
biggs Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Stunning designs from the groundskeepers. It must feel great getting up in the morning heading off to work/play for this club. Everything appears to be in order at the highest level. Top that off with fan support at the home/away games that appreciate the effort of the players and the few times we were under some pressure or a goal down, the fan base sang loud to help get the players on the right foot again. The groundskeepers workmanship from a television viewing audience perspective is nothing short of spectacular. Betting they'll have something special lined up for the champions league games.
BigWesMorgan Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Is there an award for groundstaff? If so ours should win hands down. Yeah they won the international one last year i'm pretty sure
mozartfox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 How did they get these stars cut into the grass on Sunday? The same way the Spuds guys cut the 'Star of David' on theirs I guess??
Chester Dontlie Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Not only the best team but also "the best pitch in England", as one Polish journalist wrote Apparently the genius greenkeeper's name is John Lewidge and he won Football Grounds Team of the Year Award together with his assistants. That's another reason why Leicester is almost unanonimously admired in Poland. There are even memes comparing Leicester's pitch to the grounds of Polish Ekstraklasa (top tier). Here's LCFC vs Korona Kielce Is that the training ground below? Pure art! Mr Lewidge, take a bow.
Parafox Posted 18 May 2016 Author Posted 18 May 2016 That last pic is just amazing. Mr Lewidge and his team have real talent. I wonder if he could do my lawn and make an artwork using the dandelions.
