The Mighty String Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Watched Italy v Beigium and was very impressed - reminded me of watching us. First goal could have been Riyad to Jamie. Now I read that Claudio thought that too '"Claudio Ranieri: ''This Italy Has The Same Spirit As My Leicester'' which led me to panic that if the core of our team did leave does anyone else think that he could fancy managing Italy as a plan B, or am I a bit paranoid ?
TiffToff88 Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I'm surprised we haven't been linked to every available top Italian footballer this summer to be honest. Who knows the Italian way better than Italians?!
foxy boxing Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 clearly trying to copy the foxes successful blueprint, not surprised claudo's success with us has had a huge impact with the italians
Captain... Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Claudio doesn't want to be an international manager, I was impressed with Italy though, but Belgium were playing like they had never even met each other before. Italy's tactics were spot on, forced them Belgium to play in front of the defence and to go wide, crowded the middle and just let them overplay it. I must admit I was laughing at Giaccherini early on in the game, he was poor for Sunderland I still don't know how he got in the Italy side, but it was great movement and finish.
Webbo Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I thought Italy had already announced who the next manager will be? If we're talking about 2 or 4 years time, who knows? What will be will be.

Italy have already decided their new manager when Conte leaves after this tournament - Giampiero Ventura. Presuming Ventura has about 4 years to prove himself through the next couple of tournaments, should he be successful in them. Ranieri in 4 years time will be 68. Obviously none of us know what Ranieri is thinking after his contract expires in 2019, but I'm not sure he'd be keen on taking over Italy as he approaches 70/retirement/both.

Who knows the Italian way better than Italians?! so true! didn't don Claudio say himself in an interview they are looking for players all over the world especially the italian market?
Fox92 Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Belgium are so overhyped/overrated. A couple of good domestic players and everyone builds them up. I'm glad Italy won - they played like a team last night. Two class goals as well.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Always had a soft spot for the Italian team, think it's because I'm a big lasagne fan (the food not a player).

VLC86 Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Could see why we went for Eder He looked like Shinji minus the 95% spent on arse ratio and smiles. To be fair though his smiles make up for him crawling around though so its all good.
