Perseus Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 don't think people are being fair to this lad.. he is class. I remember a lot of the same comments from others regarding big Wes and other signings we have made..trust in walshy. I think Lewis Dunk is probably better than Wes Morgan in just about every aspect of his game. Transfer fee contract release clause (if it exists?) and competition (from Everton, Palace, Newcastle, WBA) and wages may make the difference. Brighton have made the unprecedented statement that Dunk will not be sold. They have never done this before (didn't with Ulloa). Brighton have turned down bids of £5 million (From Fulham) last summer. Dunk may not be able to resist the chance of playing in Europe and a big pay rise? Competition for his signature may not be an issue as the other clubs are not in Europe and Dunk is young enough to wait another season (or at least until January 2017) Brighton will not want to sell as promotion is worth more than a transfer fee. Also, Brighton are one player short in the central defence (Greer has left) as it is, so even if they sign another central defender, it does not mean that Dunk will leave. The size of the transfer fee will depend on the release clause and I would expect that to be £10 million.

Yeah but they play Goldson and Dunk anyway so Greer leaving won't make that much difference (on the pitch) but I see what you mean about having to then go out and buy two centre backs not one
