Fox92 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 I rate Dunk, solid centre half but the only trouble is he does seem to lose his head at times.
Fox92 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 We could get James Tomkins for £7m I've always rated Tomkins, another good player from West Ham's great academy, but I couldn't see him ever leaving? Same as Noble really.
AKCJ Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 We could get James Tomkins for £7m You could probably get Ciaran Clark for 7m these days an all.
Koke Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 It's hilarious that some people come onto this website, which is an online forum (last time i checked) in which debates based on opinions can occur, and expect people not to have an opinion or criticise it because they think they know best "Walsh knows best"
mazarron fox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Dear me people, this time last year there was panic on here. Pearson gone, a new manager passed his best before date a 2nd choice keeper near retirement 2 poor left backs Konch and Jeff, 2 poor right backs RDL and Danny bloody Simpson, Calamity Morgan, Wasy being to old, Moore bang out of form and us hoping to bring in the Stoke reject Huth. In midfield we had Matty Jams out and if the main man Cambiasso didn't stay only DD and Kingy to play in midfield, we had lost Knocky and were hoping Mahrez and Albrighton would keep their form and up front we were hoping Kramaric would find his feet with either Ulloa, Vardy or Nugent and Susan Whelan had the nerve to come out and say trust the board they know what they are doing. Bringing in the Stoke outcast and a freebie from the German league and finding out we actually had a decent right back seemed to sort out the defence, Cambiasso moved on we brought in the Swiss national Captain to replace him but he could not get a game because we found some little French guy with a funny sounding name nobody had heard of and about 5th choice according to various media reports who seemed to gel with DD who stepped up a level, Albrighton and Mahrez did the business and we got rid of Nugent, Wood and Kramaric and brought in a Japanese guy we had been after and not some £20 million striker we were after who worked well with Vardy who found his feet. In January we even brought in a couple of youngsters for the future in Amartey and Grey. Probably should have given us optimism to stay up at least. So understanding the fact newspapers need to be sold and if we buy 1/4 of the players we are apparently on the verge on signing we will start the season with a first team squad of around 200 i am not that concerned with whoever we bring in. Going to be a bit boring on this and say I probably have reason to trust the scouting ability of Walshy and his team This
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 We're probably in the best position possible to attract players like Dunk, Keane, Deeney, Sigurdsson etc. Not intending to label them in one category by the way. I can't say I've watched Dunk to a great extent, but recognise he's played for Brighton for years. I've certainly heard the name.
Blanchflower78 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Good signing imo. Young, improving and at 24 is potentially closer to the first team than taking a 21 year old. Has similar qualities to huth/morgan, would benefit hugely from being in our set up.
Lesta Legend Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Palace were / are apparently interested and Brighton wanted upwards of £10million.
4everfox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 This is more underwhelming then when we signed Josh Low
johnny the fox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 don't think people are being fair to this lad.. he is class. I remember a lot of the same comments from others regarding big Wes and other signings we have made..trust in walshy.
NewquayFox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Lots of good reports about this lad, one for the future and would have some fantastic mentors at Leicester.....
TJB-fox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Obviously I understand how fantastic Steve Walsh is at his job and how he can spot a greats player amongst tosh. That doesn't mean to say he'll be correct every time and fans can't voice an opinion on the players Walsh seemingly has us interested in. If you're just going to say 'Walsh knows best' and 'just trust in Walsh' to every thread linking us with a new player I don't think there's much point in FT!
Babylon Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 "Walsh knows best"Well, really it's Walsh the professional scout knows better then a load of nobodies on here. A man with an exceptional track record for us, who has knowledge of what the manager wants, what's skills he's after in players, who knows the bigger picture of how it all fits together and knows what our budget is. Who has teams of staff watching players game after game and has all the stats you'd ever wish for. He's not perfect, nobody is. He'll get some wrong like every scout and manager will do. But if he thinks a player is worth it, his opinion on the player is a damn site more worthy than yours or anyone else's on here. People can have their uneducated opinions, they are free to air them. It doesn't make you right and it doesn't mean people can't flag you up on them if they are... Well a bit stupid.

There really is no point in FT. we all know far, far less than Walsh.
lgfualol Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Will be good if we get relegated, maybe that's why we're linked.
TJB-fox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 There really is no point in FT. we all know far, far less than Walsh.I'm obviously not claiming to know more than a professional scout at a premier league football club mate haha. Just saying that it's stupid that if anyone says 'oh I'm not keen on so and so' somebody just gets their knickers in a twist and says 'oh just trust Walsh would you!!', as if football isn't a game of opinions hmmm

If you're just going to say 'Walsh knows best' and 'just trust in Walsh' to every thread linking us with a new player I don't think there's much point in FT!Have you actually read the thread, 90% of the moans have sod all to do with the lads ability. It's that he's not a "name", "uninspiring", someone not befitting the champions. It's absolute horse crap, we just won the league with a bunch of cast offs, with players from poorer leagues than the championship... it's absolute nonsense and shows little understanding of what made us successful, or they understand it but now think we're suddenly going to stop doing what made us a success and take on a totally different strategy. Year after year all we get is people sneering at names we're going to sign. I can't think of many of the starting 11 who weren't moaned about before or when we signed them.
Max Power Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Looks decent from what I've seen but it might be a big ask to throw someone who's never played in the top flight into a Champions League and title defence campaign

If someone just wants to moan because he's seemingly just called Dunk and from Brighton, their "opinion" will get rounded on.
apple987 Posted 19 June 2016 Author Posted 19 June 2016 At the end of the day the first thing they look at is if they will fit in with the group. If they have a bit less ability then I guess they just say so be it. We can work on there ability, we can't work on there personality.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Apparently we've bid 7 million for him. In Walsh we trust
ealingfox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Seen him play a couple of times and he's a very decent player tbf.

Ebok Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Great post Katieakita.. that cheered me up.. always do when thinking how we manage to win the league with unknowns, cast off and rejects from other teams.. In Walsh we trust
