Captain... Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 In a few years I would expect one of Dier, Alli or Kane to have stepped up to the point where they are the first name on the team sheet so it could be one of them soon, but for the short term I wouldn't burden them with it. Stick with Rooney/Hart/Cahill as the least awful options, knowing they will probably not be around after Russia 2018 and one of the young guns can take up the mantle.
Tuna Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 Dier as captain? Big no from me. I don't even think he's that good. I'd give it to Mark Noble!
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 Definitely don't want Dier as captain he comes across in interviews as arrogant and I think he's over rated, not a patch on Drinky. This...
ARM1968 Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 He's a bloody retard. Shouldn't be anywhere near the captaincy or team. Anyone see him doing anything remotely like getting the team going against Iceland? However, he did ok first and second game I thought, but was shoe horned in by another moron. Just not good enough. Oh and Spurs bottled Euro 2016 as well. Disgrace all round.
matty98 Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 The only leader I can think of is Mark Noble but for some reason he doesn't even get picked.
filbertway Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 In that current squad the only 2 that probably have captain qualities are Henderson and Hart. I'd like to think Dier can grow into it. Only had one full season in England so still has the potential to grow into a leader in the next season or two. It's weird, when you think in our squad we have so many big personalities. Kasper, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Drinky. Was and Inler in the background.
Guest Posted 1 July 2016 Posted 1 July 2016 Dier always looks as though the sky is about to fall on his head. Not captain material but would prosper under a decent leader. Shame Huth isn't English.
AyewJoking Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 We've got to move on from Rooney now. I'm surprised he's only 30 but he's so far past-it now. At the absolute least we need to knock him down a pound or two.
