Premier League Patches -size

Recommended Posts

I have just had my old next door neighbour post me the white away shirt with Patches (which is lush to be fair) but I'm slightly concerned about the size of the Premier League Patches.

Having already ordered some patches via Ali the ones on my Official shirt seem very small (kid size perhaps).

I phoned up the club shop and the young lad I spoke to (who sounded about 15) said ALL the Premier League badges were the same size.

Now after much research what he has said is not true and the children's version are smaller (pretty bloody obvious as they are going on a smaller shirt).

Can anyone in here confirm the diameter of their patches and/or post pictures.

I'm not 100% certain but adult patches should measure just over 3" wide and children's just a tad over 2.5"

Considering how many they've sold and how many of us they've outright ripped off (perhaps unknowingly) what does anyone else intend to do? Is anyone bothered?

They are youth/replica sizes. All replica shirts have the youth/replica size. It's been the same for years.

You could be right, on the mercury web site it describes them as huge.

It's true the club have dropped a massive clanger... flipping fuming!!!

You can go online and order player size patches on ebay ect,

Ive ordered player size champions league patches for £7.99

After I've already paid £7 to have tiny kids patches welded on?!?! I have fake shirts that cost less than a tenner with the right size badges!! This shirt cost me £60!!

I got a pair of players size patches, they're 81 mm across.

The standard ones are smaller but I don't know what size.

65mm is the standard size, not child's size.

No you won't get players size ones from the shop, I bought them online then had them pressed onto the sleeves.

Shop ones are the standard size.

Ok so I've established everyone who's had them done at KP have the smaller patches. Whether you want to argue they're 'Kids' 'Standard' or 'Replica' size they certainly aren't the same size as the players wear.....basically they are smaller so that they cost less to make and buy....bit cheeky!!

You'll also find the shirt you have bought isn't the same as the players shirts, they're replicas.

Players match shirts are different, they also have larger logos, club badge and sleeve badges.

All clubs are the same, not just the fan store. So I don't see why you think it's cheeky.

I ordered last years home kids shirt from LCFC direct for my six year old boy, complete with PL patches and number 6 on the back. I always thought the patches and number looked fooking huge on such a small shirt, so now I reckon they put adult sizes on instead of kids. Makes sense now....

Last year's badges were bigger but had Barclays very prominently. Prefer the unbranded version we have now.

The badges look fine on my shirt tbh, which is admittedly quite small. I can see how they might look comparatively small on a larger size.

Whatever the size of the badge, it still says Premier League Champions

It's cheeky because the badges are charged at £7 a pair when you can buy the proper size for £7 from Sporting ID?!?! Why not just put the proper size badges on the bloody kits instead of ripping off the fans?

To add I had a Thai version of the Leicester home shirt delivered last week (excellent copy by the way) with the player size patches on for £7.50.

Based on what people are saying re the club shop version being a replica then the Thai version is as much a replica in fact maybe more since it had the player size patches.

£57 for the club version versus £7.50. Basically we are all being ripped off no matter how you look at it so my point is the least they could do is make it less of a rip off

All clubs have to sell the smaller replica patches and letters and numbers, you've probably not noticed but the old patches used to be smaller than the player versions and and so are the letters and numbers on the back too. I think with the patches the size difference between the 2 look a lot more obvious this year than with the old patches. The problem with the bigger 1s is they are quite big and don't have much bend to them so unless you have your sleeves tapered like the players your sleeves will lose their shape a bit with them on
