Dkopp9122 Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 My name is Daniel Kopp and am getting my masters at the University of Leicester. My dissertation is on Multicultural fandom of Leicester football club through digital media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Blogging. Does anyone know of an Asian/Middle Eastern Leicester fan with a blog?? If anyone could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated and very helpful. My hopes are to view the blog to get a better understanding from the perspective of a multicultural fan of the best team in England, Leicester Foxes!!

I know quite a few hindu lads that are leicester fans some are die hards been going for years others are more recent band wagon hoppers but either way most are 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants and would probably not appreciate being called foreign.

Balj Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Been a fan for nearly 50 years - parents from India and moved to Leicester just before I was born. Definitely not a foreign fan! However your thesis is an interesting one and one Tigers Rugby would also be interested in as they seek to expand their local fan base. Some great photo's here http://gngfc.com/gallery/nggallery/gng-fc/memory-lane . Me and my uncle are in some of these - personal favorite is below. Check them flares - legend....
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 1970's I guess, looking at the flared trousers.

My dad used to manage Montrose in the city league in the 70s, they played GNG on a regular basis.

Daniel, if your dissertation is on "Leicester football club" you better get yourself down the tigers mate. Theres a bit of multiculturalism there but not a lot.

We got the Paki comments of course (and we were Indian so equally racist against Pakistan) but oddly only in Notts - never got them in Braunstone etc where we always had a good game. Salut! Wow old school. Could have sworn my dad played with gng back in the late 60s or early 70s or knew guys in the team.
Dkopp9122 Posted 5 August 2016 Author Posted 5 August 2016 I am in Leicester and doing a project for the University of Leicester on Leicester Foxes fans and their participation on social media platforms. I am looking for a multicultural fan who has blogged consistently throughout Leicester's successful season. This is a pretty cool project and will tell the stories of multiple multicultural Leicester fans and will be submitted to the University of Leicester. If your interested in participating in an online interview please feel free to comment. Thanks, Daniel

Is that what you mean by multicultural?
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 What's a multicultural fan? I'm white British but I enjoy a curry, have a GCSE in German (C grade), seen a documentary about China and been told I have the ballsy mannerisms and gung ho attitude of an American.
Countryfox Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 I've got plenty of different cultures growing round my bellend so I must qualify.

tom27111 Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 I'm from Leicester, live in Luton, slept with a couple of Asian girls and had fajitas for dinner. Do I qualify?
Bluetintedspecs Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 This just isn't going to go well with that Alf Garnett like intro and request
