Chilwell_Fox Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Hi all, For the Charity shield I will find myself in Loughborough (not a place im familiar with) as I'm visiting family. Wheres the best place to watch the game and perhaps get some food?
Storming Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Phantom , Wild Lime ,The Beacon ,the Griffen, The Royal Oak ,The Tap & Clapper You Decide
bmt Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Loughborough isn't great for football - the first couple of Storming's suggestions are alright.

Maybe a swift one in the Fleece enroute.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Cross the bridge over to Shepshed we know how to really have a good time

Bert Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Random I know but does anyone know if there's a coach that goes from Loughborough for away games?
Storming Posted 26 July 2016 Posted 26 July 2016 Not on normal games there is a national express one running to wembley though .I go Ausden Clark but have to get to Leicester at silly oclock most games stupid when they pass J23 on the way north but at least I get dropped off on the way back at the M1 junction when we are playing North

Chiltern Fox Posted 27 July 2016 Posted 27 July 2016 Used to be the griffin and paget in my sixth form days. Every Friday after 5 a side in the tech college. Now it's the orange tree for cocktails before getting a train to Leicester on match days.

It's been closed for decades! Can't go wrong with the Phantom for footy. Used to be a stop point for the Trees and Sheep when they played us when they wanted to bitch slap a student and feel big before they came to Leicester and wet themselves.

Think it was closed down cus some cvnt let a cs canister off down there and as it was a cellar bar there was no emergency exit etc loved the Green Man, Casablanca, Fleece, Sammys and what was that dodgy pub down Devonshire Square, Sophie's Bar? I think?
