Was 12 at the time - we didn't have Eurosport so we went round to a friends house that did. 5 minutes into the game they had a power cut - got round to his aunties to see that we'd scored - ecstasy.

was at the home leg - remember queuing with my dad for tickets very early because we'd been at the previous home league match (I think it was Blackburn) and the PA dude announced that Athletico had sent about 800 or so tickets back.

So we ended up in the Away end next to the Kop with the Spaniards in the middle of the East Stand. It was honestly one of the best nights of my childhood - we all remember the ref's performance, the 4 pens we should've had (3 for Muzzy alone), Parker's absurd sending off; the injustice of the occasion bred the best atmosphere I have ever experienced. The Kop barely shut up all night - my dad still tells the story of their one moment of quiet being pierced by a 12 year old me high pitched shouting "The wefewee's a wakner". Truly unforgettable.

We might've lost, but for me it will also be the most memorable days of supporting Leicester City

Awesome trip, flew out with my bro on a non LCFC package, 2 nights in Madrid hotel, flights, tickets, about £200 I think.  That Marshall goal still gives me the chills, it didn't make sense !!  I wasn't even aware there was a programme, good luck with finding that !!

Ian Marshall! Bloody hell, what were you doing when this goal went in!? Anyone lucky enough to be there? I remember being rammed into the Galaxy in Burbage (pretty sure that's a Coop now?) barely old enough to buy a pint and the place was nearly set on fire when Rag Head scored!

We were proper minnows back then, something I feel we won't find this year. The officials decisions over the two legs were beyond belief! We definitely deserved to progress over the two legs, especially after the farcical at Filbert Street.

I was there front row on the top tier, i remember the scenes up there when that goal went in.

The Vienna trip as a bit rough to say the least can remember the fire rockets being aimed at us and the pub we went to getting turned over.

Madrid was not to good either we flew over escorted to a park and told tickets will be given to us on the coach when at the ground.

was the most frightening and hostile match I have ever attended.  Got threatend outside the stadium by some group of thugs blaming me for the work of the RAF..  In line with all Eastern European Countries the level of racism was extreme.

I don't think the ref was incompetent in that game. I think he was bent. It's the only top level game I've watched and been sure that the ref was paid off.

The Parker thing isn't the thing to be wound up about though. He wasn't sent off for taking a free kick too quickly, he was booked. He just happened to already be on a yellow. No doubt the ref took an opportunity with it but the penalty calls are the bits that really stick with me.

That sounds like the package I went on richpm. Hassle free & we had plenty of time to see Madrid. Went on the lash with Rosenberg fans who were playing Real the following night then did a club & had a few beers with the City players, though Kamark was on mineral water!

Name dropping aside, I try not to mention how great the experience was to mates as many were on the bus journey from hell that turned out not much cheaper than the air deal.

For sure he was bent. Never reffed another game at European level I think, and the Atletico chairman had match-fixing form. Parker's second yellow was ludicrous.

I was there, went on the bus from hell. Crawled from the French border to Madrid to prevent us having any time in Mad before the match, taken to the loo by an armed police officer who wouldn't let me close the cubicle door, and held back in the stadium after the game so all the home fans were waiting to throw bricks at us. Lovely memories. Oh and the tickets for the home leg sold out while we were there, just to add insult to injury. Managed to get a couple though. Still wouldn't have missed it for the world though...

Piece of piss from what I can remember. Would love to know an accurate figure of how many of us were in Madrid that night. I've heard about 4,000 but it felt like double that in the city centre that day. We were sat up in the gods and I think there were plenty of empty seats in the home stands. Not sure if we were given an official allocation or not but I don't think it was as organised back then as it is now. What a great experience though and so happy we flew and didn't take the bus like some poor sods!

There was quite a lot of lcfc fans in the main stand opposite
