Got to love the fickleness of football fans. Yeah he's average, but still generally our best and most consistent player?

He is good but a tad overrated by our fans. The hysteria when he doesn't play for England is OTT.

Leicester were shocking yesterday and yet he still looked half-decent. He's underrated. Not overrated.

Jose I'm sure was very very impressed

All joking aside I think Danny D is pretty awesome and a consummate Pro. He just goes about his business and his level remains consistently high. He's an old fashioned all round midfielder, not defensive or attacking, both in equal measures. We'd be a much poorer side without him. No hysteria - just old fashioned admiration.

Drinky would be more than 20m in 2002 !

in today's market he his 50m all day long

What! lol absolutely nonsense. There's only 14 players in world football history who have cost 50m. And your suggesting Danny drinkwater should be the 15th on the list hahaha

I somewhat agree. He's good for us but he's nowhere near as good as some on here portray him to be.

He really is.

You just seem to have taken a big dose of contraryitis over the last eighteen months.

I'm all for having your own opinions and not blindly following the crowd but anyone for whom Drinkwater isn't one of the top five all round central midfielders in the league at the moment is having a laugh.

His radar required some adjustment in the first few games but since then he's been peerless this season.

To suggest he's not better than a Schneiderlin that barely gets a kick ahead of Fellaini at United is just infantile.

When you think of some of the best midfielders the league has seen in Gerrard, Scholes, lampard, makelele etc...

Drinkwater really isn't anywhere near that standard. And they aren't even the best midfielders the world has seen. Some Leicester fans make him out to be a lot better than in reality

He's one of our best players, he's on a long contract, he's English, it's Man U who supposedly want to sign him, if he went there his squad status would be homegrown and he's currently a Premier League champion.

Each of those factors will push his price up considerably. As will the fact we don't want/have to sell.

£50m is not that much of a stretch under the circumstances.

Sorry but that is rubbish. If he was a goalscorer aswell then fair enough. He's a £25m tops.

It's Man U we're talking about. They will probably start the bidding at £35m. They're desperate and rich.

Personally I think drinkwater is vastly overrated. No pace, rarely scores. Very good at what he does but limited

Hardly any sides play with a two in the middle

drinky has to do the work of 1 1/2 players before you begin to analyse what he does with the ball and in retrieving it.

opinions are fine but some comments border on sheer ignorance

That 50m will be broken by quite a few English clubs regularly in every transfer window from now on as this TV money filters through , the here and now is not history ! It's the reality of cash rich clubs with silly money to spend

drinky is a 50m player for me all day long ... If Pogba is 90m he is more than capable of being worth just over half his value !

Like I say things are different now!

If he scored goals he would be 75m !

I think you must have been transported back to the year 2014.

This is 2016, the year Watford demanded 30m for Deeney and

championship clubs are paying 10m+ for championship players.
