SemperEadem Posted 6 January 2017 Posted 6 January 2017 Did 'this is the season for us' get sung on the terraces?

cambridgefox Posted 6 January 2017 Posted 6 January 2017 Being from Cambridge I have been to "The Abbey" with my mates as a youth and Leicester used to get a mention In One of the chants. Not much thought put in but Always used to make me laugh. There was this big lad and he had a pony tail and used to burst in after KO and start a chant. Then everyone used to turn to him and sing( celery tune) Ponytail,Ponytail He takes it up the Sh!tter and he's been to Leicester Jail ( Think he had)

49er Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 Bring on the Sunderland and Arsenal Bring on the Scousers by the score Barcelona and Real Madrid They will make a mighty bid But they won't beat the Leicester any more When we sang this song, there was never a chance that we would play Barcelona and Real Madrid as we struggled to beat the likes of Rotherham and Cambridge, but look at us now!

This is still a regular in SK1, plus the second verse

crazyleicester Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 That walk around the streets heading for Filbo, standing in the Penns and singing some of this stuff down the years was unreal. Amazing times and brings some serious memories flooding back. I remember my brother in law going nuts as I started teaching his (and my sisters) kids, "Hes here, hes there, hes every ****ing where Stevie Walsh, Stevie Walsh". He didnt mind stuff like "Super, super Steve, Super, super Steve, super, super Steve, super Stevie Claridge". It used to drive him mad as a Spurs fan when his 7yo daughter and 8 year old son would bust out the Leicester tunes back in the day. I cant tell you how many tears of joy and laughter i had a decade ago as my brother in law starting losing the plot at me!!

I would be interested to know as at uni I had Cobblers supporting mate who when pissed up would sing a song about 'saying goodbye to his horse'. And as he was saying good bye to his horse, he was saying good bye to his horse! I can't remember which away game it was last season but as my lad and I left the ground two blokes were singing goodbye to his horse. They were stunned when I joined in and back slapping when I broke in to Chips and Beans. One very bemused son. Chips and beans on a tray, on a tray, chips and beans on a tray Chips and beans on a tray, on a tray, chips and beans on a tray CHIPS AND BEANS ON A TRAY!!!!!
