STUHILL Posted 18 January 2017 Posted 18 January 2017 Apologies if there is a thread already about this, but I'm genuinely interested in what people think our best system/formation will be moving forward. We have persisted with the 4-4-2 most of the season, and it has not been working. Claudio gambled with a 3-5-2 against Chelsea and it also didn't look great. I personally think the 4-3-3 is something we should persist with and then have a 4-4-1-1 if we sign a genuine no.10 to play behind Slimani of Vardy. 4-3-3 -------------------------Kasper------------------------ Simpson------Morgan--------Huth---------Fuchs ----------N'didi/Amartey--------Mendy------------- ----------------------Drinkwater----------------------- Mahrez/Albrighton----------------------Gray/Musa ---------------------Slimani/Vardy--------------------- Obviously, like others I would hope we have signed a new CB or two in this window and they would probably come in for Morgan and maybe Huth eventually.
urban.spaceman Posted 18 January 2017 Posted 18 January 2017 Whatever the hell we ended up playing by the end of the match on Saturday. It was hilarious.
AmarteyAndChill Posted 18 January 2017 Posted 18 January 2017 Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Huth Chilwell Mendy Ndidi Albrighton Mahrez Gray Slimani on current form.

Interesting. Never considered no Drinkwater but he has been pretty awful all season. Two defensive midfielders holding and creativity from Gray and Mahrez with Albrighton and his typical crosses for Slimani. Not a bad shout
StanSP Posted 18 January 2017 Posted 18 January 2017 Zieler Albrighton - Wasilewski - Hernandez - Fuchs Musa --- King --- James --- Kapustka Ulloa Fully aware there's only 10. Will still work.

Not a bad shout I just think Mendy dosent deserve to be dropped and Ndidi has to play because of what he offers in the air and his tackling etc. It's a toss up between Vardy and Slimani though.

WigstonWanderer Posted 18 January 2017 Posted 18 January 2017 How do people feel about giving Simpson a tryout at CB? More comfortabLe on the ball than the the existing 2.

Fox92 Posted 19 January 2017 Posted 19 January 2017 Forget formations, we need a new style of play. I can't take any more long ball.
leicesterlad1989 Posted 19 January 2017 Posted 19 January 2017 As long as we don't play the 8-0-2 formation that we did for most of the Chelsea game, I'll be happy.

Is this really how we're going to talk about people who won the league for the first time in our history? Something I'm sure none of us had ever even considered, even if we had thrown hundreds of millions at it. We can be critical of them, we should be critical of them. There is no confidence, little skill and poor performances, but abusing people who gave me the 2nd best moment of my life? that's trashy behaviour.

I wouldn't refer to players that won us the league as 'clowns'. Yes we could do with upgrades in that area, but we've got to respect players that have been great servants to the club.
Strokes Posted 19 January 2017 Posted 19 January 2017 A proper 4-3-3 with the pace we possess should be lethal.
Libertine Posted 19 January 2017 Posted 19 January 2017 4-3-3 away and 4-4-2 at home. Depending on strength of opponents.
char123 Posted 19 January 2017 Posted 19 January 2017 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 for meSent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Think this could be the way forward, or even a 4-4-1-1 if we sign a genuine no.10 in this window. Depends a lot on how well N'didi can do in a midfield two, but it worked so well for us last season and the players know and like the system. 4-3-3 preferred with a 4-4-2 option if needed
