Not signing Michael Keane HUGE mistake

£20m would have bought Keane

when you think what we spent on Musa :revenge:

I'm convinced if we bought Young Keane we would be midfield now

might be the biggest mistake we made since giving Kante an exit clause dreamed up by a moron

They wanted 30 million, he's not worth that

Our ageing defence is going to cost us a damn sight more than £30m when we get relegated.

 benefit of hindsight

you could say that about any player/club.

e.g. it was a HUGE mistake from Arsenal's perspective when £6m could have bought Kante in 2015. I'm convinced if they bought Kante they would have won the league last year.

also a HUGE mistake not putting £20 on Leicester at 5000-1 last year.

It wasn't hindsight to know we needed a centre back... we didn't sign anyone, Keane was linked with us a lot and it is a shame we didn't get him.

How is it hindsight ?

Stevie wonder could see we needed a young quick centre half

I don't think new CBs was as clearly a pressing issue in the summer as it is now. With hindsight we can say they had all the protection in the world from Kante and seem to have aged 10 years over the summer, but at the end of last season they were in the prime of their lives and keeping endless clean sheets. Also we did get a highly rated CB, Hernandez from the La Liga TOTY.

Perhaps not in 2007, but comparatively in today's market probably worth more. You'd have to be an ostrich to think otherwise.

Signing him on a free was probably worth it as long as you got someone else in. In the summer I was very worried by both our midfield and defence. The pre-season highlighted those concerns to me too. I don't think you needed any kind of magical hindsight to see that... a lot on here were concerned and are being proven right

OMG NOT BUYING MESSI IN JAN WAS A MASSIVE MISTAKE AS WELL.

Burnley didn't want to sell Keane, Keane didn't want to come, or he would be here.

You really think 20m was the stumbling block, pretty naive.

Jesus Christ and we think forest and Derby live in the past. We are where we are, we've signed who we've signed who we have signed.

We are still fighting in 3 different competitions let's stop crying about the past and get behind the lads.

Come On Leicester!

How do you know he didn't want to come plus that is just a silly comparison! we needed a competent defender it isn't hard to see why whether that was Keane or someone else
