Will the Owners still bankroll us if we go down or sell the club.

Thanks for the replies guys, some good points raised that would hopefully see them continue, also some good points that may not, it's a big worry, the Leicester ride has always been that way. Given the money they've invested/written off I guess we're still a fair way from fully paying that back but there are assets that could be realised (albeit at a lot less than their value during the Summer) to cut any current overall losses made. Last season must have been one hell of a boost to their long term plan, as to whether that deserves their further support after the poor performances all round by the club (except marketing). One thing that has worried me is their apparent blindness to the failings of the manager, maybe he's not been shown the door to avoid having to pay a substantial severance package which could be so good that Ranieri will never walk.

If the rumours of Ranieri being kept till the end of season are true all I can say is their pretty determined to see us get relegated.

Relegation will lose them a lot of money, Relegation will cost them a lot of money, Relegation would see the clubs value plumit.

You could argue for those reason they might think it's time to cut their losses, however the fact the clubs value will have lost so much to me it's not an ideal time to sell, for that reason I think they'll be staying. That's a good thing of course.

However the blame is now shifting to the owners for me. Which is bad to say after everything they've done for us and the club but the problem is getting deeper.

It started with the players, it's 100% their fault not giving any effort, who keeps picking those players? Ranieri so he has to take much of the blame. Who's backing Ranieri and allowing this to happen the owners.

Its a simple knock on effect but everyone at this club from top (no pun intended) to bottom is to blame.

What a mess.

Hard to say.

The problem now is they have achieved a higher goal than they would have ever have set themselves footwise wise and after we depart the Champions League they might wonder what the point of carrying on is.

Unless they have fell deeply in love with the club or are serious about expansion of King Power across the globe (something not so certain now with the death of the Thai King and the potential loss of their duty free monopoly) they might be wondering what the point is of it all, espcially if it starts to cost them money over the next few seasons rather than make them it as it has done.

the owners appear to be in it for the long haul and shouldn't just sell up after one bad season.with the parachute payments and things in place if we go down like reduced wages for players and staff. the club is on a good financial footing but we might lose assets like some players obviously if we go down.

I hadn't considered the losing their monopoly aspect, although if sweeping fiscal changes were going to be made in Thailand there would probably be wind of it by now as it's 4 months since the King died (even though they are in a declared mourning period of 1 year)

We still have a brilliant chance of going straight back up with we spend the money wisely in the summer. Parachute payments will help us. If we don't go up next season the I think they will leave.

We'all have a juicy fine to be paid first before we're allowed back the the league.  So expect that and maybe an embargo if it's not rectified satisfactorily.

Regardless of travelling by Learjet and helicopter the guy deserves a medal to cancel buisiness arrangements and travel 6,000 miles to watch us against Derby's reserves and an inept performance in a cold and rainy Swansea.

I think the family have a place in Battersea, Top spends more time there, handy for the Polo. (the sport, not his car)

Didn't he buy the club for 40 million ?

At present they have easily tripled/quadrupled their worth, and it has had a massive impact on King Power establishing itself in the UK and the world. The only way they would sell is if the advertising dropped, the free press stopped, the money stopped rolling in.

That or:

someone comes and offers them Circa 300 million takeover

I'm going for selling to buy a Chinese club.

KP have never managed to get into UK or European airports to my knowledge.

Chinese tourist are their biggest market.

Just my conspiracy theory

Understand the duty free aspect, and I'm sure the Chinese have their own version of king power, who will not just stand aside, and who like our owners are friendly with the elite of the country, so get the monopoly on the duty free.

Also is it worth it to lose their brand from the public eye, because does anybody watch Chinese football.

The owners have so much invested in the club - written off £103M debt to start with. The value of the Premier League win is massive for the King Power Brand and based on that win and Champions League revenue we are currently the 20th revenue generating club in the world. Losing face in the oriental world is a significant "thing" and I can't see the owners walking away even though that revenue would plummet; but even if relegated we have accumulated the financial firepower (with parachute payments) to come back and some players would be sold for a few bob however in that case the only Claudio on show will be the statue outside! Hoping for the best but fearing the worst!

I dont quite see how or why they would sell the club - they have invested way way way too much money to go now...

The whole debt to shares scheme they did was worth millions and millions alone.... plus the actual purchase price.... I just dont see how they could afford to sell...

Only if we have the right manager in place for the Championship. It's a tough league to get out of.
