Will the Owners still bankroll us if we go down or sell the club.

There seems to be a lot of underlying currents all flowing the wrong way I'm genuinely worried that our owners (who I still think are a country mile better than those of any other English club) will say enough is enough and turn their backs on English Football and sell the club.

With the high wages that are in place, we are in deep sh1t if the contracts have been poorly drafted (quite likely) with regard to relegation. We could then be landed with a core of players that just decide to hang around for a high wage for doing sod all (as per this season).

I fear for the future of our club, which could relatively easily been secured for a four or five year span future during the Summer transfer window. I just can't imagine that they would tolerate another Leicester City "ten year gap".

The fact we are even having conversation like this 8 months after winning the sodding title of the richest league in the world is why I will never forgive anyone associated with the running the club this year. Rudkin, Top, Ranieri and the players. You're all ****ing idiots. I like the fact Vichai is taking a strong hold on showing up to matches and checking on his investment - he's the only business brains. The CEO is very good at the retail aspect (see the run in hospitality package announced today).

They won't want us to get relegation. It's a shot in foot for their King Power business which is currently known by everybody with us being in the PL.

Having bought us in the championship and gone through 4 seasons to get up? They're obviously not just in it for the prem or they'd have gone elsewhere rather than buying the club in the first place.

We still have a brilliant chance of going straight back up with we spend the money wisely in the summer. Parachute payments will help us. If we don't go up next season the I think they will leave.

So does every club that goes down, Villa are shit, Blackburn, Wigan, Bolton and so on. We need to completely rebuild the squad irrespective of what division we're in. It won't be easy at all if we're relegated.

If the name of the game is brand awareness, then relegation is not a disaster for their associated businesses. The loss of income clearly is. For the second year running, though, the whole world will know LCFC.

We made 30 mill profit last season

we will make nearer 50 mill this one

they gave us a 100 mill to write off the debt by converting their loans into equity. They are entitled to take that back. They could walk away and be better off than when they bought us. And they could demand a fee for the club depending on where we are. In the championship that would depend on the amount owed to settle all contracts taken off the asset value of the players. I reckon they could easily walk away with well over a hundred million profit. I don't believe they are the kind of people to walk away but if they are advised that they will never get a better return on their original investment than now and they have fallen out of love with the whole sorry business if we are relegated then who knows,

... and that's the sad fact, forget the word Club ... it's merely a business asset, cash in to buy and take the punt, fantastic chance happening with big promotional values and then cash out and run!  But maybe, just maybe they see a bigger picture in all this ... the Far East side of things have bought into the brand and whilst we remain in the Prem it's all a good revenue stream with trickled turn-over, but as you say if relegated ... well who knows!

Playing in the Premier League gives the exposure on television in a global way that they simply could not get just by buying advertising space. The reduced exposure and poor TV coverage in comparison in the Championship would be a massive blow to their business and also would have a serious negative impact on inward sponsorship and advertising revenue.

You're taking a medium - long term perspective. The OPs point was 'are they'.

I'd say relegation in three months time is now in the business timetable. Whether they stay or not would depend upon the price they would get and that would depend upon the league we were in.  Of course they could be in it for pureley altruistic reasons and a deep love of the game.

Love your optimism. Good for you. Let's hope you're right.

They seem much more distant this season and I wonder whether the passing of the King of Thailand has anything to do with it. Perhaps other aspects of their business demand attention. Also Top seemed completely disillusioned when the FA refused to rescind Vardy's ban.

It may well be that buying a football club was just a rich person' indulgence, and they are now tiring of the venture. They do have other sporting interests.

They appear to be backing Claudio to the end, so must be now expecting relegation as a reasonable probability. Who knows?

Thanks to last season, every football fan in the world now knows

King Power.

They have already achieved much more, than they probably

ever hoped for. Mission accomplished?

I don't think, that the buying of LCFC was a rich person' indulgence.

They acquired the club, because they were looking for a marketing

tool to promote King Power in Britain and Europe.

It worked like a charm. King Power has, thanks to the title win, become

a household name. Not only in Britain, but worldwide.

They couldn't ask for more.

I don't think this will be the case. Yes, we have some players on silly wages, but we also have a load of money coming this year just from being in the Premier and Champions League. We also have some very expensive assets to sell in Mahrez, Kasper, Slimani and even some of the younger players if we need to (hopefully not). We will also benefit from very generous parachute payments for a few seasons and not to mention our owners are Billionaires and only seem to be getting richer by the sounds of it. It's not like we are a Bolton with 175million debt either.

We will likely be stuck with players like Vardy, Morgan, Huth, Simpson etc for 2-3 years on high wages, but I am confident we have more than enough to stay financially stable, and this is if we don't go back up too. Obviously, financially, we will take a hit, but not in the sense it will put us in danger, more so that we could have a lot more money coming in from staying in the Premier League and so that could drop us behind clubs that stay in the league.

Very unlikely the owners would leave too, as they would be able to sell us for much higher amount in the Premier League and so it would be worth them getting us back there first.
