Only Palace who finished 5th had conceded less than us. WBA and Stoke finished top 2 and we conceded 10 less goals than both of them. As shocking as we were McAuley and Kisnorbo did well for us. Also, we were the lowest scorers in the league with a pathetic 42 goals. Colchester finished bottom and they scored 62 goals I think Fryatt talking about there being no midfield to supply and just an overload of strikers explains that quite well. Holloway was completely and utterly inept.
Patrick Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 Was my favourite player in my teens. Sad to see that his career has taken a real nosedive.
UniFox21 Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 This really shows how far we've come in about 10 years and we're sat here moaning about Mahrez, best player in england last year, when we used to be moaning about the likes of Holloway playing strikers in every position possible
Leicesterpool Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 Fryatt is a legend, one player we let go to easy. Always felt he still he had more to offer, but sadly Sven already had other plans. Also that nasty jaw breaking injury really affected him.
Wolfox Posted 8 March 2017 Posted 8 March 2017 Celebrated a little too hard when he scored for Hull against us for my liking...

Don't forget how much stick he got for how poor he was before eventually joining Hull. Despite that being Sousa's fault for trying to turn a half decent, solid Championship side into Barcelona tikki takka overnight! Loved Fryatt and was great for us in a period of utter shite.

Then ever since Sousa came in he switched to a more standard nike/puma boot and never looked comfortable again, still stuck with them for the rest of his career though which I assume is finished thanks to the foot issue. I think he had long term Achilles problems, so wore special insoles. Presumably he wasn't helped by his flat footed running style. He was a skilful player and I used to enjoy watching him....at least until Holloway put him on the wing
Basingstoke Fox Posted 9 March 2017 Posted 9 March 2017 Still have excellent memories of his brace at QPR in 2009. What an away end.

Guy next to me dragged us both to the row in front. No idea what was going on when Fryatt got the winner that night. One of my favourite away days ever.
