Some stupid, needless penalties given away by the Lions and poor concentration to concede the two tries when we looked clear, but some players have really put themselves up for the test squad. Henderson simply MUST be in there, he's been outstanding despite having to take 10 mins in the bin. But he DID get yellow carded and it is a position in which there's a lot of competition.

Yes he did, but he's still been one of the top performers and in my opinion, he should still be in the match day squad at the very least.
Finnegan Posted 29 June 2017 Posted 29 June 2017 Surprised, he's not been on form for the last year. I figured it'd be Kruis and Maro tbh, not that Kruis has been exceptional either. Rest of the side isn't really a shock.
StanSP Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 definite red, that, for Sonny Bill Williams. No escaping that one.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 No choice there. Very, very silly SBW. Ten years ago you forgive him those shoulder charges, it's even what you select him for. He's old enough now and had long enough now to adjust to the rules and he just knows he can't do that. Probably one of my favourite ever sportsmen but you can't do that.
Guest MattP Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 Dirty cnut, could have seriously injured him that. Great chance now.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 It is a good opportunity but it's also a shame. I don't want to beat them "because" they had a man down. Especially in the cake tin, in the rain, playing well where we have a real chance of winning anyway.

Finnegan Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 Jack Nowell really isn't an international quality rugby player, let alone a Lion. Ugh.

Absolutely ludicrous to charge in from the side like that and give the opposition three points and what looks like it will be a tight match.
Nalis Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 Watching on a NZ Stream (TSN2) and again the commentators again are quite refeshing. Impartial and insightful.

Try and get the names at the start of the second half. Is it Grant "Nisbo" Nisbitt with one of either Andrew "Merts" Mertens or Justin "Razzle Dazzle!" Marshall?

Did any of them suggest penalty try regarding the last play at the end of the half? The kick goes up and the New Zealand player ends up knocking on in his in goal area... which to me looked like a deliberate action, so could be punishable by a 5 meter scrum OR penalty try, if deemed a scoring opportunity.

shawy2510 Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 If Barratt could kick in this match we would be getting hammered.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 Misses again. 12-9 still. He's thrown away a fair few points tbh.
Nick Posted 1 July 2017 Posted 1 July 2017 I'm away in a B&B at a wedding so cheers for the update! ?
