Matt Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Tough start but we have to play them at some point so atleast we'll get it out the way and to the fact might catch them cold, maybe, hopefully.
DatfoxesKid23 Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 the good thing about having hard fixtures at the start is that the players will get used to having to go up against big teams and then they will play like a big team

Hammo Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Doesn't really matter to me how the fixture pack is shuffled. The important thing is that we are playing in the PREMIER LEAGUE. Playing against big clubs that are difficult to get points from is all part of the fun! Bring it on...

Wymsey Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Not sure why many are quite concerned about how tough the start of the season seems. Thought we play generally better against the 'big boys', more than the 'lesser' sides?
Spudulike Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Just watching SSN at Brighton with a room packed with excited fans all cheering and clapping they have got Man City up first. They looked like a non-League club hoping for a draw against one of the big boys. Small time.
esoog Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 We like momentum...good or bad we go on strong streaks. First game is a HUGE test in my book and it is a flipping tough one!
esoog Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Going to add to that...more incentive to not sell mahrez to Arsenal!

Like Bournemouth before them and Huddersfield it is the first time they've played in the Premier league so naturally the tv cameras will be honed in on them, they've been out of the top flight for a very long time and rightly can't wait to get going. To call them small time is like saying you're billy big bollocks.
Wymsey Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Have to admit - with the likes of Brighton and Huddersfield, as well as Burnley, Stoke, Swansea and Watford - you can hardly say the league is a 'glamorous-looking' one but also it makes the league to look weak on paper, tbh.

Yeah because having Bolton, Wigan, Fulham, Reading back in the league would make it all the more glamorous. They're the top 20 teams in our football pyramid regardless of club size or history, they have a right to play in the league and the 3 weakest sides will drop out, I fail to see how that makes it look weak on paper.
LCFC FOX Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 So we're off to Wembley twice in a week then, Spurs away and then the fa cup final the following week

You could say that about most top leagues- you have an "elite" of five or six clubs and the rest a combination of smaller clubs and relatively large ones from previous eras. Even when the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds were in the league we had Wimbledon, Barnsley, Bradford, Coventry, Charlton, Oldham, Swindon etc.
lcfc old boy Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 statistics show its best to play teams after a champions league match, considering that i dont think the fixture list has been very kind to us.
