RumbleFox Posted 3 February 2018 Posted 3 February 2018 (edited) So a Tory supporter hit a woman? That's the actual story here, not the students. Edited 3 February 2018 by RumbleFox

I've watched the video several times (sad I know!) and all I can see is sunglasses guy feigning a punch and white shirt man responding, as you probably would. Looks like shouty girl got caught in the middle but I certainly don't see any intent to "punch" her. This is such a problem in Higher Education at the moment. From working at a university, I see a lot of occasions where speakers/guest lecturers who sing from the same songbook as the organisers are given a platform to air their views and opinions; yet the opposite are effectively censored from many campuses across the UK. Sunglasses guy sums up everything that's wrong with this current attitude: "You're not worth debating" he shouts at JRM. Regardless of what your opinion is of Rees-Mogg's views, if he's invited on to a campus, he absolutely deserves to be heard with respect and then his opinions should be debated; exactly the opposite of what this cretin says and exactly the opposite of the action he takes, thinking he's taking the authoritative moral high ground. It's a saying I used to dislike, but I'm more and more coming round to the phrase "millennial snowflake" and videos like this really don't help the cause! Edited 3 February 2018 by foxinexile

Please enlighten me and apologies if I have misstepped. I saw someone share a post on FB saying that is what happened and have not had time to research so it may have been a biased link I saw. If nothing else I am willing and keen to admit when I am wrong. What actually happened?

RumbleFox Posted 3 February 2018 Posted 3 February 2018 I fully agree in hearing everyone's views and would rather they be debated than silenced. 1

Apologies if I’ve misread your intentions but I’ve already been accused of proportioning equal severity to this and the Jo Cox murder so maybe I’m not being rational. They turned up at an event in balaclavas looking for trouble and refused to leave until they got it.

I honestly have not seen enough of this thread or this story to comment fully so will go away and read into it. I just believed a post I saw on a good friend's FB page who is usually very reasonable so if it was misleading then shame on me. I'll have a look and see what the crack is. X

That fact that there is even a possibility of you getting your right wing killers mixed up says it all really.

RumbleFox Posted 3 February 2018 Posted 3 February 2018 Le's maybe stop this discussion for a few minutes and take a breath eh and move to something safer, something which can't cause any arguments and which could never lead to hard feelings........ .....so then, religious people eh? What the fvck's that shitting cvnt all about?!?!?! 1
Buce Posted 3 February 2018 Posted 3 February 2018 I think the whole thing is just a storm in a tea cup. Some people who aren’t Tories had a slanging match with some others who are. Then a middle aged Tory and a younger not-Tory flapped at each other like a pair of convent schoolgirls. Hardly a bar room brawl, was it? 1

Having seen another angle of the video, the guy in the white shirt seemed to get a little fed up with what was going on and made a rush to end the commotion. As always in these types of things, what is described as a punch is actually a fairly shitty arm movement that try’s to mimic a punch and invariably gets nowhere near its intended target. There were these arm movements from both ‘white shirt twat’ and ‘specky hated twat’ - with assumed ‘gobby girlfriend’ of ‘specky hated twat’ receiving some of the force from ‘white shirt twat’s’ arm throw, but to no substational degree. JRM looked displeased at the whole affair and cried for order - as one might except. He maybe tall, but he’s a thin streak of piss and unlikely to be much use in a fight. For those for which it matters, WStwat seemed to throw the first wavy arm movement mimicking a punch, but this was only fractionally before SHtwat and perhaps the safe conclusion is that both are indeed twats and should be forgotten by life very quickly. As for JRM - shall he announce him as next King now? PM is a job so underneath his capbilities, and it could be that May somehow stays around longer than her Maj anyway?

I don’t think people would quite so forgiving tbh.
