I'm guessing you think that by implementing this, Labour would get more of the youth vote which could swing it Corbyn's way? Tbh I genuinely don't think there are any good arguments against it, particularly given my last point. Might it help labour - perhaps. That's the only reason the Tories have for refusing it - 16 year olds can vote for the tory party leadership. Not exactly country first is it?

I'm not really passionate about it either way mate - I'll leave that to you and the experts. But if it means keeping Corbyn out of number 10, then I say keep it as is.

You're obviously one of the less partisan on here - what is it the convinces you that Corbyn's proposals are a worse option than the current (shambles of a) government?

Don't think you can get me into a debate and turn me red Toddy! I'm a capitalist and have voted Tory all my life - as have my parents and their parents. It's just a habit and I won't change now.. I'm also a bit bored of all the Theresa May bashing. Personally, I hope she turns it around and comes out the other end just to stick two fingers up to everyone. Even if Corbyn had the best proposals in the world I wouldn't want him and his cabinet running the show. I'm sure he's a nice bloke but he's not PM material as far as I'm concerned. Now leave me alone

For me, it's probably less about what the Tories could do that would make me vote someone else, and more about what Labour or the others would do to make me vote for them. I'll admit I'm shallow and swayed more by personality than Policy. I know you'll say that May is the worst PM we've ever had but I still trust the nation more in her hands than Corbyn's. If Labour had a strong leader who I engaged with, trusted and felt a connection with, then I might be swayed. But Labour have never really had a leader I've trusted in over 25 years. Whoever is in power I just get on with it and play the hand I'm dealt tbh. 1

Guest Posted 3 February 2018 Posted 3 February 2018 This honestly has to be the end of the arguments about government funding levels and private involvement/provision of public services. Sharpe's Fox Posted 3 February 2018 Posted 3 February 2018 How thick can you be to think the private sector can effectively run schools, prisons and national security at a multi venue international sporting event? Thats liberals for you.
leicsmac Posted 3 February 2018 Posted 3 February 2018 So, bit of a brouhaha involving JRM, apparently. Seems to be about fifty different interpretations of what happened. 1
