Lnksterns amateur assessment of where we stand

Ok.  I am admittedly an amateur Yank, pretending to be a pundit.  That said...

Current tactics are woeful.  Yes.  But!  New squad, new players, yet to gel.

Shakes is awful!  This season, yes.  Do you even remember last season?  Patience.

Insert player is awful!  Bugger right the hell off.

Squad sucks!  New players, still more to come.  Still, fvck off h8ters.

Six from six is still possible.  Tactics will improve.  Squad will change and improve.  Calm down.

Today...

Good, organized Huddersfield squad.  Squandered chances.  Still almost nicked three points.

Vardy sub?  Groin, plus EFL this week.

Alright, slate away!

My opinion of you rests with on this very question, Is it football or soccer? Answer very carefully!

Soccer is US version.  Footy is the game, worldwide.

I am a fan of both.

I stand by my comparison to American Green Bay fans.  They freak at the slightest sign of weakness.

Fair enough.

Still six from six possible.

I've watched every game this season on streams and attended both games in Hong Kong.  It's clear there are a lot of issues with our performances and recruitment.  Shakespeare has all the inside info and gets paid to make decisions.  If performances don't improve he will be replaced.  It's not in the fan's control. I don't think our owners have been reticent to act before so we have to get our popcorn and watch the soap opera but remember this THEY CAN'T TAKE AWAY OUR HOPE

It's like American football, but for real men

There was a great advert in the States, back in the day.  They show an American football player, putting on all the gear.  Then a Rugby player, to whom they toss a shirt.  He then just laughs.

know you're joking but nfl players are the best all-round athletes on the planet tbh

Are they?

Do they have great stamina, like rugby and football players?

Many of them don't resemble athletes at all. Many look like they've spent years in the gym and have one skill (throwing, catching, kicking, running into someone). Being built like a house and fast at sprinting doesn't make you the best all round.

For all the complexity of the game, in an individual sense it's an extremely simple game. All round isn't a term I'd use for anyone in American Football.

What on earth???  It's the same game with a different name in the U.S.

I'm glad you know I'm only joking as there's no way I'd actually say that to an American footballers face!

Quite the opposite. They all have very specific jobs. I'd say a rugby player(position depending) is a better example.

From Heavy Metal, 1980.  Yes, I am old.

It's not your age me duck - it's the heavy metal that's done the damage.

When I use the word athlete, I'm talking in terms of the players physical attributes

by your logic you could say that cricket players are the best athletes due to the number of different roles they play in
