Just a quick hello, i won't be a regular visitor, i just wanted to let you "sly" foxy peeps know that your magnificent title winning season is on premier league years NEXT monday at 2am ( DAFT O'CLOCK I KNOW ) in case you guys had'nt spotted it yet,

NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER !! have i rooted for a team to win the title like i did for you lot, ( apart from  us obviously) So just a heads up for you so you can record it, my mrs could'nt figure out why i leapt out of my seat when hazard equalised,

( i hate spurs, nobody remembers Steve MacKenzie's volley, just villa's winner ) that made your title win even sweeter for me, and don't dare call me bitter or a grudge bearer !

 

As i'm an old fart i hate change, still prefer maine road to the etihad although it  was murder to get home from ! remember watching lineker on MOTD at filbert st as a nipper, did'nt know him and alan smith played in the same team, always thought smith was bought as a replacement.

Cheers. First of all, congratulations on the beautiful demolition of the head cases on Saturday night. I trust that if Dele Alli's tackle had led to De Bruyne being carried off on a stretcher there would have been enough of you with the courage to leap over the barrier and administerer justice in the old fashioned way.

 

Second, well done for coming up with one of the best ever anti-United chants. The 'park the bus' ditty. They have absolutely no answer to that one. (By the way, what was the chant at the Spurs game to the tune of 'Love will tear us apart?) 

 

Got a soft spot for your lot. I lived round the corner from Maine Road for a year - 1989/90 season - and got to see the derby game. Yep - that one. Good memories.  Also - some of us DO remember Steve Mackenzie's volley - and also the absolute roasting that your left back Bobby MacDonald took at Filbert Street earlier that season from a young Stewart Hamill. For about 45 minutes we all thought he was going to be a world-beater - now he's just one of those poor sods whose wikipedia page is a stub.

 

I'm an old fart too and much prefered Filbert Street to the new place.

 

Let us win on Tuesday and I promise we'll surf the wave and put you 14 points clear at the weekend.

Love watching your fans enjoying the success..you know what it is like being down in the lower leagues like ourselves. Dont ever turn into the spoilt,self entitled so called fans that follow the likes of Arsenal and Man Utd. shouting on the radio phone ins when they drop out of the top 4 !

I am just so grateful that this current Man CIty team was not around in the 15/16 season. 

 

You don't want the League Cup too do you?  That would just be greedy.

Steve Mackenzie was working at DMU in Leicester up until his stroke last February I think, I worked at DMU for about 18 months and he was such a nice guy always said hello and had a chat, do you know if he made a full recovery? I heard he used to work for the club on Matchdays.

Have to say for a team in Man Citys position, doing well based on the riches of oil sheiks, you're still a remarkably likeable team and bunch of fans (still fairly down-to-earth). Put those red rags and the London clubs to shame.

 

My favourite 'top 6' team by far, hope you win the PL in style as looks likely right now.

 

Thanks for the heads-up and agree with what was said before, if we can progress in the League Cup tonight will happily take a tonking in the league

thanks for the post. Must say your team are dominating and what I like about Man City at the moment is their players have no egos. Theres no mardiness in the team or arrogance. There's a lot of togetherness and unity in your team this season and it reminds me of when we won the league - you can see the same juggernaut type steam rolling you're doing.

 

Infact I think I've only ever clapped two players from the opposition team off the field and one of them was Bergkamp in 97 when he scored that out of this world hatrick. An absolute genius... and fast forward 20 years later I clapped De Bruyne off when he got subbed against us couple of weeks back. He is my favourite non leicester player in the world. An absolute genius in the same sphere as Bergkamp was. And when you see someone with a God given talent like that I have to applaud it.
