I find that a difficult one to answer because I've seen a lot of Maguire this year and not huge amounts of Keane. We've only conceded two goals more though and Keane is ahead in most of his individual stats... although they can be misleading with defenders. Maguire has a bit of X factor and he gets you off your seat, but I do think Keane might end up being better defensively. I haven’t seen an awful lot of Keane this season but I seen him a fair bit last. I think Maguire really suits our play and I know he is a bit cavalier at times and can drop a clanger occasionally too but he really has helped develop our play this season. I’d be gutted if we had to give that up, although I realise Keane is no hoof merchant.

Bossman Blessed It Posted 2 January 2018 Posted 2 January 2018 I think at times we can often underrate our own team. Despite losing Drinkwater and not having Silva available, imaginably scuppering plans a lot and having a manager sacked, we're sitting comfortably at 8th. The quality of our squad seems to have improved, to the point where you'd be justified in saying that we have the 8th best squad in the league and are therefore performing exactly to the standards we should be. Maguire, Iborra (and in 8 minutes) Silva all represent a shift in our recruitment policy. All things considered, I'd say we're in a very good place as a club, when things didn't look so around 3 months ago. 4

I remember when they signed Bony from Man City ( loan l think ), his reaction was ‘Thank God, we’ve got a great goal scorer now !’ ? 1
Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 3 January 2018 Posted 3 January 2018 My brother's (LCFC fan also for 45 years) in laws are Stoke fans and are genuinely awful people. It is utterly hilarious how bad they are and how good we are now after the years of barracking and insults. I have entered a serious smugzone whenever I am around them.

We're all guilty of it, but I felt in the summer especially there was a lot of 'oh god, why didn't we sign him, how have we lost out to them!!' Three which stick in my mind; (feel free to add anymore that have flopped!) Kevin Wimmer Kurt Zouma Grzegorz Krychowiak Wimmer and Zouma have somehow made Stokes defence worse.... Grzegorz Krychowiak is on the verge of being sent back to PSG and loaned to Getafe... Something to bare in mind for this window for sure, as we'll probably miss out on someone that seems like 'a great signing' or 'an ideal loan' it doesn't always work out that way..... It works the other way too, plenty of fans couldn't believe we'd got Iheanacho... True and although hes a good player, im glad we didn't spunk £50m on Sigurdsson. Good player but not worth that amount in my opinion. Seems crazy that some fans (including my stupid self) would have been happy to sell Mahrez and replace him with Sigurdsson for a similar fee.
surrifox Posted 3 January 2018 Posted 3 January 2018 There was quite a bit of frothing at how brilliantly Everton went about signing players - most of them were either dogs or couldn't be fitted to a system by Koeman
