You mean in the Summer 2016 when he was joining Everton? In terms of high price, Musa and Slimani were linked before that period, so you’d think they were Walsh signings but still he was gone by the time they signed, so probably didn’t advise if they were value. However generally his more dodgy signings were low risk freebies.

I mean summer 2016 when almost all the signings we made were his targets, yes. The fact that he left later that summer is no excuse. We were bidding £20m+ for Musa the January before so obviously he would have supported £16m. Don’t know why some people are so desperate to defend him. He’s not your dad. He’s a bloke who jumped ship for more money two months after signing a new contract after having dumped us with a load of crap, then proceeded to do so badly at Everton the fans are desperate to get rid. He is as susceptible to criticism as anyone else.

I’ll defend him because he played a significant part in the club’s greatest success. The second post of the thread I criticised his Everton performance. They weren’t his targets, they were his suggestions. Walsh never set a transfer free because that wasn’t his remit

Yeah I spent a lot of time in Liverpool during the title winning season and Everton fans were great, Liverpool fans not so much.

Yeah I know a couple of Everton fans and they are sound, but at the ground the support is non-existent unless they are 2 goals up. Proper weird. And there's dog shit everywhere for a mile radius round Goodison, proper third world stuff

I don't understand why they made him Director of Football. He became famous of finding undeveloped talent in leagues and teams where others didn't bother looking. He may have other talents but that alone hardly makes him director of football material. I'd have him back. Imagine our already fairly great youth system, Puel's emphasis on youngsters and Walsh's talent for finding rough diamonds. It wouldn't happen though. Even if he's kicked out, every club not suffering dementia would have him as a scout and pay through the teeth.
