Have a day off.. Mahrez's free kick was a beauty but nowhere near the skill level that Vardy's required! There is no Vardy bias so don't even start with that one. If Mahrez had scored the Vardy ones we'd all be saying Mahrez!

But a match deciding freekick from that distance, with such a beautiful curve, and the last action of the game required little skill?

Also i didn't say anything before @ZeGuy opened his mouth. Not everyone is going to agree on the same goal, but @ZeGuy is making it seem like I chose the FK just because mahrez scored it and not because it was a beauty (which it certainly was).

People are choosing Vardy because his goal was better not because we are biased. You even said yourself that you chose Mahrez cos it was late in the game which kind of suggests you don't actually think it was the best. Mahrez and Vardy are both excellent players that have both scored excellent goals for us but nobody can deny that Vardys goal against WBA was the best goal of the season  by some distance. But if it makes you feel better, at least Mahrez got the assist for goal of the season

Did I say it required 'little skill'? No I didn't. It was a stunning free kick no question and in a real clutch moment.... but the technique of controlling a first time shot when the ball comes over your head at pace is one of the hardest to master in the game. Argue it all you like but all the pundits were raving more on the Vardy goals than Mahrez's goal, at least in this country. It's not bias and it's not personal.

Vardy's v West Brom clearly the best but in terms of the most enjoyable - and most wildly celebrated- it has to be Maguire's beautiful Christmas present v Man Utd

Vardy against Spurs was super-cheeky, wins it for me. Similar great technique like the one goal against West Brom, just more unexpected from my point of view.

 

Very much liked Iheanacho's volley against Peterborough (lovely assist by Fuchs, though) and Mahrez' strike against Spurs.

 

But it shows again how dependent we've become on two players and how little "highlights" there have been so far during this campaign.

This season has all been about Vardy for me, though. 17 goals with that stuttering squad - imagine what he could've achieved with some better service from midfield!

we've really been spoilt with some beauties this season! It's a shame having to choose one of them as there are some wildly different types of goals.

Can't see past Vardy vs WBA as the execution of pass, run and shot is perfect.

Come on mate, that Vardy finish was impeccable. A great ball by Mahrez, watched all the way knowing where the goal is, weaker foot, smashed into the bottom corner like an arrow before the keeper had a chance to react.

 

You rarely see goals like that. As good as Mahrez's free kick was, at the end of the day it was a free kick and they get scored every week- I preferred his Spurs effort.
