Last year when I was defending Slimani with the goals per 90, you said it didn't mean anything, and now it's the most important fact? Oh the irony.

You must have the wrong man Redouane. I'm a Slimani fan. I beleive and have always believed he is a good player who could do an important job for the team. The only reason he hasn't is that he has been continually injured since before we signed him.

what is the point of your argument? slimani is better than mahrez? okazaki is better than mahrez? stop chatting complete and utter shite for the sake of it. if we sell mahrez and don't unearth some utter gem of a player we are completely fu cked. adrien silva is not going to step up and become one of the best players in the world. get your head in the real world.

I wasn't discussing anything with you. You've made your bizarre and fixed pov known and there is no point in entering into discussions, the Fox knows how to discuss. Just in case your question was real and not another straw man. My point is that given the chance we already have attackers who can create assists and score goals. If Mahrez leaves attacking options are NOT our problem. It's our defensive woes that need sorting. Priority has to be a complete overhaul of the back 5 and midfielders who understand that they need to put in a defensive effort.

We'll need 13 goals and 10 assists next season to replace him.

If Diabate, Ian, Gray and Barnes start scoring and assisting, our defence improves drastically and we sign a new winger then perhaps we'll approach his contribution.

But it'll be undoubtedly a difficult season.

What we need more than anything is defensive stability, then we could even cope with a player adding less output than Mahrez did in his position.

And there's also other players in midfield that need to step up in terms of responsibilty, chucking in more goals and assists next season.

Fix that and we're ready to roll.

Conceding 60 goals in a season, and that as a Top Nine side, is rather criminal.

I know where FIF is coming from

We could have 2 Mahrezes and 2 Vardies, wouldnt make a difference because our defence is dreadful

We do have a lot of good attacking players and i'm sure we'll buy at least one more.  I'm not remotely worried about that

-not least because I am bored of the very notion that we rely on Mahrez for goals, regardless of the substance to this claim                                                                                                                                                             What concerns me more is getting another CB who will come in as Maguire's first partner and a RB who will push Simmo, bless him, out of the starting 11.

So Mahrez is now relegated to page 5 of the topics threads. Must be a done deal with Man City. £75m is being mentioned. Perhaps if the budget is stretched City can persuade Gareth Bale to come to the KP.

75m wouldn’t even pay his wages for two years ...........

Starting to wonder if the reason this has been dragging on for quite a while is due to his agents' demands has complicated/is still complicating things.

Will be stunned if he's still at the club by the end of August.

Yes it would lol

He’s on the equivalent of £350,000 a week

after tax at Real Madrid isn’t he? So we won’t be a stones throw away.

I found this rather depressing website, which was somewhat funny at the same time.

I thought it was higher than that - if it is 350 after tax, then I’m wrong - 75m will run out first half of year three though if you take employers NI into account ..........
