No, not fingers crossed. Walsh was diabolical at Everton in the DoF role.

Ronaldo would be diabolical at Everton.

Without that release clause, we'd have probably never seen kante in a city shirt, he was pretty desperate to go to Marseille.

I very much doubt it was the release clause that convinced him.

What are your thoughts on Daniel Levy at Spurs?

A highly educated (Cambridge Univ) and very smart businessman with vast experience of multi-million pound transfer dealings at the top-end of the transfer market over many years working for ENIC.

But then again, he is Managing Dir at Spurs and not simply a DoF who has "worked his way through the ranks"

Are you trying to draw a comparison between Rudkin and Levy?

I'd ****ing love to be a scout. Fly around the world on the clubs dollar, watching football? Yes please.

I appreciate it won't all be fun and games, like any job, there'll be presentations and a shitton of reports to write and for every good report you get through you probably have to sift through a whole bunch of chaff, but still.

No, just drawing a comparison from what you stated about Rudkin being “one of the most difficult people to work with in football according to agents (laughable) Tries to micro-manage everything and deals/negotiations take longer than they ordinarily would at other clubs” which are exact same things said about Levy yet u seem to be ignoring that because he went to Cambridge! (Bravo on taking the time out on googl research to try and strengthen your point by the way!)

If you were the owner of the club would you prefer to have someone in charge that agents love (because they can bully their way to deals that financially benefit themselves at a cost to the club) and who gets deals done quickly by throwing money around or would you rather have someone that does what’s best for the club on your terms regardless of time?

Ive always found that in business, research beats sarcasm.....unless of course you know differently?

Its not about whether I would prefer Levy or Rudkin, its about who is best qualified to do the job and I don't think Rudkins background makes him better qualified or experienced to do the job than Levy....or many others.

Doing deals in a protracted fashion doesn't necessarily mean you reach the right outcome.  It just means the negotiations take longer than they should which is not a time efficient way of doing business and you might not ultimately achieve the best result. (ie Adrien Silva)

“Doing deals in a protracted fashion”??? What do you expect them to be when the deals involve 10’s of £millions on top of the fact a number of agents are probably also involved?? Have you ever considered that the other club/agents might be the reason for delays rather than from our side??

N’didi, Maguire, Iborra deals were done quickly and we got fantastic value on each of them but you seem to overlook them and highlight the Silva deal which is just an easy uneducated example to throw around especially as you have no idea of the true facts.

"Uneducated example"?  " No idea of the true facts?"

Im probably better informed on this than you can ever even imagine so it is quite weird that you should describe people as being uneducated when you have absolutely no idea of their background or their connections with the club.

However, im quite happy to let you be led by the media as I genuinely cant be bothered to argue with folk who can only guess at what actually goes on based on what stories are planted in the papers.

Later...!

(PS The silva deal was just an example.  fully agree with you on N'didi, Maguire and Iborra but then again, even my husband gets things right occasionally!)

What the **** does a director of football even do? "You want me to buy him, do you? Okay, I'll get on the phone. Arsenal want to buy Maguire, you say? Tell them to burn in hell. A new training ground? Yeah, why not?" I may be under playing the role, however...

My opinions are based on what I’m told by my connections at the club and not what I read in the media ??

She's a fuchin idiot, some of the crap she spouts in the U23's is laughable!

Thanks for your informed opinion.  I don't suppose you've got anything to back that statement up with other than "you don't agree with what I say" therefore its "crap"

I guess that's why keyboard warriors like you love the internet and social media as it gives you a "free" platform to be abusive rather than debate.

That joke just never gets old...  lol

Don't recall ever saying I was a big wig, merely that I had connections within the club who relay information that might not otherwise be known publicly. Apologies for trying to offer an informed insight.

Wow touchy.

I did not say you was a big wig. It was just part of my joke in calling you Susan.

If it offended I'm sorry it won't happen again.

My hope is the club management has learnt from previous mistakes and that we start building from the back and get another quality central midfielder in plus a winger in case Mahrez leaves for good - the signing of Ricardo Pereira can act as a first indicator of where we're headed this summer.

Rudkin's not responsible for our shortcomings after the title win, but he's one part of the puzzle.  He can be criticized - alongside Macia & Co., of course. Look at the whole picture, not just a single tree.

Handling the ins and outs during a World Cup will be tough and I suppose we'll see a couple more transfers coming in during the next two weeks or so. :fc:

No offence. Apologies if my reply came across as abrupt.
