gurru991 Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 I think it's a good idea but make it for half a season so we can bring him back as needed

Players on a season-long loan can be recalled by parent clubs in the January transfer window but only if the two clubs have agreed a recall clause in advance. 1

Thanks, I hadn't realized that. Edited 9 June 2018 by norwichfox
lcfcbobby Posted 10 June 2018 Posted 10 June 2018 Give him a loan for 1st half of season to prove himself then look at things again in january if he is killing it in championship then keep him for second half of season and give him some game time in the prem if not up to speed yet then loan him back out for rest of the season 1
Captain... Posted 11 June 2018 Posted 11 June 2018 Thomas like Hughes is a different prospect to Chilwell and Barnes. Academy graduates need to play proper competitive matches against men. Hughes and Thomas have done that and succeeded at lower leagues. They would benefit more from having top level coaching and being with a higher standard of players. I think it is a real shame that they didn't get some more cup/league minutes. They clearly both have something, I don't know if a loan is the right move for them to succeed here, I would like to see them on the bench and actually given the chance to prove they can do it. Sometimes we faff around too much with young players and trying to prepare them for something they will never be fully prepared for. Sometimes you just have to take a chance and say show me what you can do. Even if they don't make it they appear a more attractive proposition to potential buyers if they have experience at the top level. 4
Ian Nacho Posted 11 June 2018 Posted 11 June 2018 It's what the young lads need. Reserve games are not what they used to be. In the past, a player would become a man whilst playing in the reserves but now, very few older players play.
ScouseFox Posted 11 June 2018 Posted 11 June 2018 made his wales debut in the recent international fixtures, that’ll do him a world of good. a championship loan would probably be ideal for 6 months.

I think a full year minimum as we're going to be well stocked in the withdrawn striker role he is best suited to if we get Maddison.
Red Squirrel Posted 12 June 2018 Posted 12 June 2018 Is it just me at my age but every time I see George Thomas on here I immediately thinK of the old taffy speaker of the House of Commons. He was brilliant at his job and what a voice, lets hope for the same from his namesake - ORDER ORDER!
HoustonFox Posted 12 June 2018 Posted 12 June 2018 Didn’t we recently sign another promising youngster from the lower leagues who was a full Welsh international? Hope this turns out better than that signing (except for the profit, that but was good)
