Forgive me for not editing this down further, but regardless I’m still rather surprised we’ve avoided any transfer talk involving Ndidi???

considering he only played 3 games aswell I think he averaged out as the most tackles and interceptions per 90 mins ?

His passing isn't good enough

His stats aren’t that bad for two teams that aren’t possession based, I think if we just respect him for the destroyer type midfielder he is he’s top of his game.

still only young aswell, with more experience his passing should go up a few levels, it’s not like we’re watching him act like a rabbit in the headlights when he gets the ball.

You asked why the top teams haven't expressed interest though - that's why. His range of passing long & short needs to improve + concentration. If that happens I'm sure he will have lots of suiters

What's all this talk on Twitter of Chelsea bidding £20m for Schmeichel?

A few points to consider:

1. The Maguire talk is starting to die down now as people lose interest in the England NT, so Twitter needs a new rumour.

2. Easy rumour to make up, as Liverpool are talking to Alisson and apparently Courtois is 'house hunting' in Madrid.

3. The owners love Kasper. They even named a horse after him.

4. Kasper loves our owners. Has Chelsea's owner even been let back into the country yet?

5. Dressing room (+ Stowell) mutiny if Kasper is sold. Massively risky.

6. Kasper wants to play CL, he isn't leaving us to play EL.

Personally, I don't think other clubs are likely to change their opinion of him on the back of half a dozen WC games.

Especially when some of them were against no-hopers who offered little attacking threat, e.g. Panama, Tunisia.

The argument that a good World Cup will drastically change a player's value always struck me as total bollocks.

Agree with that.

There is bound to be more plaudits with a lot more justification to players like M'Bappe or Kante who have excelled prior to this tournament at club level than there is to the likes of Maguire (and Musa even) for one decent tournament alone.

For the former 2 the World Cup is the crowning glory to their careers. As good as he has been for us Maguire still has it all to do yet.
