Apparently there was a bid straight after the season and the club didn't say yes or no to it either. However, you'd expect now that the offer is a waste of time given his value has rocketed.

Harry Maguire 2/1 to Tottenham as of now. only odds though

He was apparently set to go to Tottenham last year... before we trumped them on wages and he came to us instead.

If they couldn't afford him then, there's no way in hell they can afford him now.

I love Harry Mag but if someone offers £60m+ we should talk. The figure might sound pie in the sky to some but teams have been known to spunk silly money after a tournament, a great time to sell.

Why, so we can spend £20m each on 3 players like Musa, Kramaric and slimani? Never understood why fans care so much for the money side of things in the position we are. If that money would make a difference to our survival as a football club, I'd understand. Right now in the position we are financially we need to look to keep our best players and keep pushing to get further up the table. Why be another Southampton?

Harry Maguire has been the best England defender all world cup. How long until one of the supposed big boys puts a serious bid in? Would we accept 50m?

for me, there is absolutely zero chance of harry mcguire leaving this summer. did he sign a 5 yr contract. done 1 of it. owners have shown they wont be bullied by players agents or big name teams. he is here for a good while longer... unless a bid of 75m+ is bid.

If the owners have been weighing up the pros and cons of cashing in on Mags then it could be one explanation to the number of CBs we've been linked with this summer if the recruitment team are keeping tabs on potential replacements.

That said I think it's unlikely and if we do sell then the fee will be astronomical, after all however you look at our often disappointing incoming business over the past few years there's no denying that we've been no mugs when agreeing terms for selling important members of the team: There's the Mahrez saga, getting Chelsea to pay £30m for a benchwarmer (aka 'doing a Porto') and of course managing to sell Kanté for more than his release clause.  So yeah, going to need to be a record breaking transfer for us to offload a player we're surely building the defence around now.

Leicester City does NOT need the money, we no longer can be bought our owners see success on the pitch as a necessity and are not afraid to spend to achieve it.

How much we are offered for players is pretty much irrelevant (until it becomes absurd 100mill +). They dont need the money.

They are not afraid to spend  for good quality.

Money is NOT AN ISSUE.

so you're saying we don't need the money?

There's no such thing as the big clubs anymore as it was basically defined by how rich they were, all the clubs in the premier league can afford to keep their players if they really want to.

Not the stupid big clubs are dead argument again. We might be able to offer the same wages, but not the same benefits as bigger teams that have European Football or better chances at the now less valued domestic cups.

Now we've sold Mahrez, will there be enough money to buy another player?

I would imagine Puel will have all of the Mahrez money to improve the squad.

Personally, I don't think other clubs are likely to change their opinion of him on the back of half a dozen WC games.

Especially when some of them were against no-hopers who offered little attacking threat, e.g. Panama, Tunisia.

The argument that a good World Cup will drastically change a player's value always struck me as total bollocks.

when he can stay here and not win anything ....... their sh1t hole is more attractive than our sh1t hole ......

That doesnt affect the clubs attitude to a sale. Unless he plays silly buggers then we won’t sell - he doesn’t seem the type anyway

Hank Marvin is staying here, he has a sense of humour without bitterness, important part of FT to maintain a balance (OK he's a bit of a cnut, but I couldn't resist )

Forgive me for not editing this down further, but regardless I’m still rather surprised we’ve avoided any transfer talk involving Ndidi???

considering he only played 3 games aswell I think he averaged out as the most tackles and interceptions per 90 mins ?
