Andy King, does he have a future here? (I believe he could)

Andy King has been heavily rumoured to be going to Aston Villa, This could still be the case potentially with a loan deal. However, could he now feature for the 1st team considering Puel has filled a Gap that the squad lacked and effectively opened up new Formation potential?
Puels favoured 4231 looks to be the long term goal, and with Maddison coming in it seems likely we will play a formation with a #10 for the season, does this open up a space for King to find some of the potential we all knew he had as we came up the leagues, Since he first showed proper potential in League 1 and the Early championship days under NP, we went to a solid 4-4-2, which often played against Kings strengths and left him overrun in midfield, this formation has been the foundation of the club for a Decade now, and looks to be starting to unwind. 
Could King potentially be backup to Maddison in that #10 role where his defensive frailties are less important? With 2 CMS behind him could he have the freedom to contribute to LCFC? He played very well at swansea in a very poor team.

I don’t see King as a number 10, despite his squad number, he is a classic midfielder with a knack for arriving in the box at the right time. Playing too far forwards will reduce that potential. He needs play in a midfield with some legs and muscle. Alongside Kante he would be much better, but then so would anyone. I think he will suit Puel’s style better than Ranieri’s or Shakespeare’s but not his formation. He is not a ball winner or enforcer but he takes up intelligent positions and likes to shift the play forwards and move forwards. We probably won’t see him too much though as the CMs will need to cover the back 4 especially the marauding full backs and that is not his game.

 

He isn’t creative enough in the 10 role. I hope he can force his way into Puel’s plans but I don’t see it, except maybe in a centre mid role when teams are parking the bus and we don’t need to worry too much about protecting the back 4. Then he can ghost into the box and score a trademark goal.

Not a premier league quality player in all honesty. Would still be sad to see him go but he should do so for his own good.

I notice his profile pic is of him in his Wales kit now.

Yeah that’d make sense, great guy and has been a real asset on getting us stable and to where we are, he deserves to play. I’ve given him stick in the past for not being good enough to take us to the next level but it’s because if he stays in the knowledge he won’t play it doesn’t count as loyalty, it’s wage collection. I’d like him to have the ambition and opportunity to carry on and play for a decent championship side

Say what you want about him but that's class. He is probably going to be leaving and it probably won't be met with the ceremony he deserves but that is such a genuinely nice thing that he didn't have to say. He deserves a testimonial. The guy is a ****ing legend for this club and I will never trust anyone who says otherwise
