Poyet suspended for telling it as it is.

I think Poyet was right to air his feelings. It's the manager who gets it in the neck when the team loses because they're not good enough. It's the manager who gets the sack not the owners. This article points the way to what is wrong at Bordeaux at the moment and they won't be challenging until the "owners" sort out their attitude.

I have a limited understanding of what happened, but from what I'v heard it sounds like a bit of an over-reaction. I agreed with him at first, but then it sounds like it's a player who he never played, or really had intentions of him playing, and who I believe he had told to find a new club.

The only thing he was really complaining about wasn't the fact that he was sold, but that they hadn't replaced him before he was sold. Maybe communication could've been better, but when you sell players, you don't always have the luxury of waiting around, as the buying club might find a different transfer target instead, and then you're stuck with them.

I can see that it might be annoying for him, but probably not a reason to blow up like he did. I did make for an entertaining press conference though.

Edit: Actually, I seem to remember he had a bit of form for being a dick to Brighton as well.

Yes they weren't a fan of him down at Brighton, to the point where the felt they need to publicly embarrass him by sacking him and leaking the news to the BBC while he was doing punditry for them.

Good Manager but suffers from the same affliction as his good mate Wise, too much of a C**t to avoid pissing too many people off eventually.

He's a fraud with a monstrous ego, got Brighton promoted to the Championship and done nothing ever since other than getting sacked.

On 23 June 2013, Brighton released an official statement declaring that Poyet had been informed that "his employment has been terminated with immediate effect".

The club sacked Poyet on 16 March 2015

He was sacked on 19 April 2016 due to conflicts with club president

On 12 November 2016, he was sacked.

You can sympathize with the fact that nowadays in many clubs managers have little say in transfer policy, but it has since emerged that Poyet was kept fully informed of what the club was doing, despite his assurances that he was not. The guy strikes me as a complete drama queen, and possibly knew full well what was coming at him in the wake of his completely unhinged press conference.
