Absolutely superb work with the flatstick from Stenson down the stretch there, brilliant work. That will be a huge point there from Rose and Stenson.

What a formidable pairing they are. And what about Moliwood? Incredible performance from them two.

Goes without saying. Tiger will be absolutely fed up of playing against them two.

DeShambles is a laughing stock, when he's on he's obviously brilliant but when he's off it's definitely off. I'm convinced he's a gimmick, he's too bothered about being different than actually making the most of his ability.

DeChambeau is a bit weird. He’s also a massive kiss ass when you hear him sucking up to more experienced golfers.

Woods looks like he can’t wait to get home to me. Saying that, he’ll probably win his singles tomorrow.

Bjorn must be delighted with 10-6 but we’ve seen that overturned before. All about getting off to a good start tomorrow and we must be strong favourites now.

Its all been great though and what a golf course Paris National is.

The US haven't figured out that this isn't a course you can overpower, I have constantly seen the likes of Finau, Koepka, DJ chipping out of the rough. If they start changing their gameplans, i.e go with 3 woods/irons off the tees we might have a problem. If they keep trying to overpower the course I can't see them winning. Particularly with the deficit they already have.

As always though, singles is a different game entirely. Noren seemed to struggle a bit today and Olesen has sat out the day.

I'd love either Molinari or Fleetwood to get Woods tomorrow and beat him 4 times, the great man must be sick of the sight of them.

I'm still backing Europe, I've got a bet on Europe to win by 1-3 points and Fleetwood top European point scorer. So both of them would do nicely, although I wouldn't complain with giving the yanks a good hiding and winning by 5 or 6 points!

Worst case scenario I see is 7-5 to the US from that draw which will still be good enough for us to win it. Some fascinating match ups in there.

Watched the Ryder Cup for years, but never heard this mentioned and only just thought of it. Do the teams have standby players, if a player gets injured or ill? Or do the teams just have to do without on Friday and Saturday and forfeit a singles match on the Sunday?

My understanding is that if one side has an injured/ill player on Friday/Saturday then they just do without (as they've still got 11 to choose 8 from each session)

If a player is injured/ill for the singles, then the other side has to pick a player to sit out and they just play 11 singles matches (the 12 match is declared a half) - "the envelope rule"

I remember it happening in 1991 when Steve Pate couldn't play so David Gilford sat it out which was really unfortunate for him (but he still got half a point and would probably have lost anyway :D).

Funny as I had a feeling this might also happen this time around for some reason!

Thomas

Koepka

Rose

Rahm Woods Halve

Fleetwood

DJ

Spieth

Garcia

Molinari

Hatton Reed Halve

Stenson

Noren

7-5 Europe, it'll look tough early but we have enough in the final groups to see this home.

Good shout that.

This is my worst case scenario:

Thomas

Casey/Koepka half

Rose/Simpson half

Woods

Fleetwood

DJ

Spieth

Garcia

Molinari

Reed

Stenson

DeChambeau

7-5 to the US but we still do enough.

Takes me back to Sunday at the RC in 02 at the Belfry.

Me and my old man were stood by the first green when Monty played Scott Hoch in the first singles.

It must have been 20 deep all down the fairway and about 10,000 people on the first hole. Monty holed his birdie to win the hole and I’ve never experienced a roar like it. Total electricity. Wish I was there today

all DNB.

really fancy fleetwood in this, gonna back him for everything. point scorer, best rookie, to win all his matches. smashed up the course before and reckon he doesn’t know what pressure is.

loving that partnership this week, need fleetwood to win today for a sensational weekend

Very surprised to see Spieth that far down, he's been brilliant along with Thomas.

They need some quality and experience low down in case they do manage to turn things round, wouldn't want your young guns trying to bring it home under pressure I guess.

DJ and Fowler totally can’t be arsed.

Yeah ive noticed that this week, im surprised by Rickie's attitude but genuinely think DJ couldnt give a damn what happens today and is already thinking of his flight home later
