I'll happily admit I pretend to know what I'm talking about when the Ryder Cup comes around as I have no interest in Golf any other time, but that last point was crucial. 4-0 would be demoralising but 3-1 gives us hope. Need to at least share the foursomes and finish no less than 5-3 overnight.

If we can get in after day 1 at 3.5 vs 4.5 then we'll have done well. I am astounded he's sent McIlroy out in this format, playing the way he's played today.

That really should've been 2-2, Rose and Rahm let that go. Yes the US rode their luck but they didn't kill it off. 

 

Big task now already, although I actually like all of our pairings against theirs this afternoon. Hoping for a 3-1 minimum to square it up.

close, just rory let me down. that pair were either gonna win by about the 13th or not hit a good shot between them. shame it was the latter.

Depends a bit what happens in the morning four balls I would imagine but Bjorn could well keep the same foursome pairings seeing as they all worked so well today.

 

I’m more intrigued as to what he’ll do with the four ball pairings. We’ll find out pretty soon what they are!

Brilliant from Europe this afternoon. 

 

In my opinion, Furyk got his some of his pairings really wrong. Fortunately for the Europeans the two strongest pairings went against their strongest two pairings. Stenson and Rose know how to turn it on and Fleetwood and Molinari have been superb. I fancied them this morning and as soon as I saw they were together again I thought it was another blue point. 

 

Pairing Mickelson and DeChambeau, two of the most out of form Americans, in foursomes together was complete suicide. If he's got any sense, they'll both be shopping with the other half tomorrow. See you Sunday lads. 

 

Another disaster pairing is Watson and Simpson, haven't won together and Watson in foursomes? Really? 

 

From a European point of view I'd be slightly disappointed we aren't actually further in front, Koepka and Finau rode their luck incredibly this morning. This could have easily been 6-2, but 5-3 from 3-1 down this morning- you'd take it every day of the week. 

 

I'll be interested to see when he decides (if he does) to sit the likes of Rose, McIlroy, Fleetwood and Molinari out. I'm not sure you can sit any of them for the foursomes tomorrow. I'm sure Fleetwood and McIlroy in particular won't be happy to sit any matches, which in Fleetwood's case probably means Molinari plays too. McIlroy you  can pair with most people I'd imagine. Good luck Thomas, this is why you're the captain.

i have always been a negative person it goes back to the mid 80s when i followed leicester home and away and it goes for any team i root for in different sports but i am glad that they turned it around but i will not get postive about  europe in the ryder cup until they have them 14 and half points
