Blimey that takes me back ! ...   remember as a very young lad picking up the balls for Shilts and bringing them back for him to wallop them again ...   and I remember that big indoor training building in the background when Rodney Fern is taking a few shots ...   I used to launch a few ball bearings from my catapult and they used to go straight through the Perspex roof panels ...    happy days ...   :)

Brilliant film of training at Belvoir Drive.

The goal nets sum up the facilities back in the day. Looks like professionals training at Knighton Park after 6 months of solid rain. lol

To think that it's the same place where we still train now, where the playing surfaces are almost like bowling greens. Unbelievable.

"The Guild of Cripples "lol. Even Harry Enfield's Chumleigh -Warner character can't get close to capturing the insensitivity of past generations

i used to live near a Hospital in London called the Royal Home for Incurables . Imagine finding out that you were being sent there

Thanks for taking the time to post that, I found it really interesting. Amazing the changes in football in a blink of an eye really in the grand scheme of things...

My thoughts exactly!  The term ‘carer’ seemed to mean the person who threw the unfortunate disabled person into something resembling a shopping trolley, and wheelchairs were just used by the wealthier families.
