Soyuncu or Evans?

Sometimes you have to take a chance and with Evans looking as though he's lost quite a bit of pace we really should look to start Soyuncu possibly in a back 3 with the 2 flying full backs

Arsenal away in the great escape season saw Pearson’s first flirtation with the three at tha back set up which would eventually see us retain our PL status and give us the momentum for our greatest season ever ..........  but claude’s only attempt to play it when not chasing a game was home to Bournemouth last season after we lost amartey to injury. It was a disaster for twenty mins and he seems unwilling to try it again unless he feels backed into a corner.

We also tried it at Man City and got mullered.

 

If a manager has spent his entire career building and playing teams in a variation of a theme, I don't know why people are so keen to have them try a formation they themselves haven't spent years working with. Unless he can drill it right, it's likely to cause more problems than it sorts.

We played back 3 against Manchester city last season as well. 

And we also factually played back 3 in the last 3 games

Soyuncu! Didn’t even have to think twice, with all due respect to Evans I feel is too slow for the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette.

Well the reason why is obvious my dear fellow - cuz we got the playerz to play it! Its only natural to want to harmonize the formation with the balance of talent in the squad - idealistically. But from a pragmatic standpoint I agree, if its not coached or it hasnt been tactically anything like what the manager has built his career around then no point trying to force the issue.

Agree about man city, and to be fair, we only played half or less of the match during crystal Palace. If you want to mention it. Also not full. Match against Bournemouth 

 

So neither in those match really we play 3 back for whole. 

 

This season We did. What's more important is what happened during the match and not what's outside it. 

 

No matter what the paper said, once we are on the ball, madison always move to the hole, nacho goes upfront, amartey stay back, without the need of touching the ball first.
