Now old man Wes is out of the picture for 2 matches, who would you like or who should come in for him?  Equally importantly, which of the two do people think Puel will choose!

I would actually hedge my bets, choose Evans for the Arsenal game (for experience) and Soyncu for the West Ham (though he should be on the bench at the Emirates).  I think CP will pick Evans for both.

Problem is I've only ever seen Soyunco play on the left both for the U23s and Internationally so not even sure he'd be any good on the right. I reckon he was bought as back up for Maquire with Evans and Morgan competing for the right side spot.

So I'll go Evans.

Am I the only one that finds it weird that centre backs can supposedly only play LCB, even when they're right footed as Maguire and Soyuncu are!?

No, and they maybe ok on the right but get put on the left because they're better than any other option on the left. Was just an observation anyway could be rubbish.

But Evans is also a left sided centre half, in fact more so than the other 2.

Obviously it is important but I think people are placing too much significance on it. It can take a little bit of time but shifting sides is something that should be achievable for any professional footballler. Not like we're asking them to move from left back to right back or to suddenly become a winger. It's just a case of getting used to the subtleties.

We need to build a strong CB pair ready for next season so whoever is being lined up for the start next season is my choice.

However its 100% that Morgan will come straight back in regardless of how these play in the next 2 games.

Sure but that as you imply takes a few games at least suddenly going in on the right against someone like the Arse is likely to be problematic. Also why did they not play him on the right for the U23s if it looked like he was going to replace Morgan either that or they know he's very capable on the right already. Just thinking aloud anyway.

Caglar Soyuncu is ready to make Leicester City debut, says Claude Puel
Turkey defender has yet to make an appearance after his £19 million transfer

Caglar Soyuncu is ready to make his Leicester City debut, manager Claude Puel has declared.

However, experienced centre-back Jonny Evans is expected to step in for the suspended Wes Morgan when City take on Arsenal on Monday night.

Turkey international Soyuncu has been given time to settle into life at City following his £19 million move from Bundesliga side Freiburg, with Puel citing his lack of English as a reason why he is still yet to feature in the first team.

The 22-year-old has featured in City’s development squad but Puel now believes he is ready to make his Premier League debut, although he warned he faced stiff composition.

“I think he is ready but now he has to compete with other players in this situation, against experienced payers like Morgan, Evans and Harry Maguire,” said Puel.

“He is a young player with a lot of attributes and he is working very well in training and he is now ready to play for me.”

No I agree with you, and I heard Evans say that he feels comfortable on the left, and that playing RCB was like a new position. I find it weird. I've never played anything like the level of these guys but have played centre back and centre mid on both sides (I'm a leftie) and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference.

Playing fullback or wing is completely different depending on which foot you use as we all know.

So it seems like we have 3 CBs that prefer the left and Morgan on the right with Benkovic, who looks to prefer the right on loan - hmmm?

Evans will get murdered for pace against this lot. Might be better to play Armatey at CB and play Ricardo at RB.   That will give us pace at least.  Put Caglar on the Bench ready for the next home game and start to ease him in.

Evans for now, Soyuncu for the future.

It wouldn't suprise me at all if this time next season Wes has retired / playing in the Championship / USA, and Maguire has been sold to Man United so our centre half options are out of Evans, Benkovic and Soyuncu. But we can cross that bridge when we get to it.

We are in a fortunate position where we are a decent team that is unlikely to get involved in a relegation scrap. Therefore we can take our time and introduce players slowly over time. We already have the youngest team in the division so are doing a good job of it already.

Yep, that would have been a good opportunity. I suppose they want him to get used to playing over here and give him confidence, since he'll be worrying about the language and probably wouldn't want him worrying about the positioning as well? I'm just thinking out loud as well lol

But I think you're right in that he was still brought in as a Maguire back up/replacement.

Would quite like to see Caglar play against Arsenal just because they'd get salty that we got him for half the price they wanted him for...

*had offered for him but were turned down.

I don't want him to play on Monday in case he’s shit!

Probably worst but highly likely scenario is :

Evans starts on Monday … we get battered … dropped for Saturday.

Caglar then starts Saturday … not the best of debuts … decide he is not quite ready.

Morgan comes back in against Cardiff to save the team.
