How to pronounce Srivaddhanaprabha

Since the tragedy, Vichai has been widely talked about and I've seen many remarks about his surname (some quite disrespectful), so I thought it might be useful to write his name phonetically to make it a little easier for English speakers. 

 

Srivaddhanaprabha = See-wat-ta-na-pra-pa

As you can see, there are no hard sounds at all, just a little long. 

 

I don't think anyone finds his first name hard to say, but the more accurate way to say it would be Wi-shai as there are no V and CH sounds in Thai.

 

Ironically, the harder name for English speakers to say correctly is Top. The T sound in Top is not a normal T sound, but the one in words like stop or stiff, with no air coming out. 

 

I should add that most Thai people don't expect you to get them right. If you didn't no one would take offence. This is just for those who's curious. Before we won the league, I'm sure most Thais couldn't pronounce Leicester either.

This is Leicester. There are quite a few here that struggle with Iheanacho and Ulloa.  Heck, there are some that can't spell "Gray" correctly!

 

But there's no disrespect intended and I don't believe any would be taken.  When people here say it, however it comes out, we all know that there us nothing but love for the man and his family.

Whilst it's good your bringing awareness some people have no hope... my dad refers to Ndidi as Niddy.

Your dad sounds like he's ahead of the curve, probably called the rappy P Diddy when everyone else was still calling him Puff Daddy.

(There are differences sound between Thai and English
Just try to help if  there's anyone wants to pronounce as similar to Thai native as possible.
