I doubt that very much.

I didn't know who the couple was, but I do now. I'm familiar with the family by reputation and I'll be surprised if it hasn't already been sorted.

I still think sort of thing should be reported, there should be zero tolerance of such behaviour anyway, let alone on a day like this.

Mental how many people have decided to let themselves get wound up about this and have spent the day attacking Corbyn. We're meant to collectively be remembering the nation's war dead, not judging a fashion show.

I do sort of agree with this in a way as it shouldn't matter but something about it is still really odd.

I went to a service last night and I made sure I was dressed appropriately for it, it wasn't just how out of place he was among the other politicians, even the public turned up looking smart, it didn't even cross their mind to wear an anorak to an event like this.

It just smacks of laziness, I mean he could be running the country soon and he can't even dress himself properly for a national occasion. He just looks like he can't be arsed all the time.

From what I can make out he was dressed appropriately and then he put a dark overcoat on because of the rain. If he hadn't put the coat on there'd be some other excuse to moan at him, not holding the wreath correctly, walking too quickly or some other nonsense.

Respect is a subjective thing though, and ultimately I don't think it boils down to what kind of coat someone wears to lay a wreath? I was watching the coverage and I can't claim to really recall what anyone was wearing because I wasn't preoccupied with thinking about that at the time. If someone had turned up in trackies or whatever I'd have probably noticed mind.

Like I say, if people want to spend a day for remembrance fixating on what coat one bloke was wearing then that's their prerogative. I just find it a bit odd.

Bet he was wearing one of those TINY pin poppies with the leaf at half past five. What a traitor.

That's a very idealistic viewpoint, Matt, but totally naive.

The immigrant communities seldom look to the police for justice, they look to their own.

I've just had to escort an elderly Sikh couple back to their car after finding them having, "Get back to Muslim Land" screamed at them by three of In-ger-land's finest; the irony of it happening on a day when we commemorate the loss to the gene pool of the flower of British manhood didn't escape me.

Worst of all, the couple had just been to lay a wreath at the War Memorial in remembrance of all who died, including several family members. I am often ashamed to be British, but never more so than today.

I was at the Menin Gate yesterday for the service and included in the various services / regiments taking part was a large company of Silks, with some veterans by the look of it, proudly marching through in very colourful turbans and flags. They were a real credit to their religion and culture.

VB, I understand where you are coming from, but on this occasion Corbyn and his advisors knew they would provoke some kind of reaction from many people, labour voters included. I think on this extremely important occasion, he could have made the effort to show a little more respect. It would have helped if he had laid the wreath a little more tenderly. He almost just dumped it down.

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to just be a normal bloke showing real respect. He came over as crass and uncaring.

Yup.  Called it.  And in complete contradiction of the video evidence (apologies for the source which I'm sure many will be just as offended by, the video was linked by the first non DM news article in my google results and the only way I could link it myself was from twitter directly):

How much more tenderly does he need to caress that wreath before you're satisfied? And yet nobody's concerned about the bloke who "showed up in a skirt and dumped the wreath down before drunkenly stumbling away".  Weird.

Awful, what a bunch of twats.

They obviously have no understanding of what the day is about. I really hope they get dealt with appropriately.

And that was entirely my point, collectively we are remembering the dead by showing 'Respect'. You don't turn up at the Cenotaph wearing a fcuking anorak. So an attack no, exasperation yes.

I'm guessing you wouldn't have been equally impressed by Michael Foot's donkey jacket then?

I think Ian Blackford was overthinking the ' Ffs don't fall over Ian ' and ended up doing the 'soft shoe shuffle'.  With no shreddies on that could have been fcuking horrendous.
