For any Foxes in London, well worth going to the Tower of London to see the new installation 'Beyond the Deepening Shadow' - 10,000 individual flames filling the moat from 5 till 9 each night till Sunday. Went last night and it was pretty moving.

I wish they’d done this for as long as and as prominently as the Poppies back in 2014 - I only heard about this the other day and won’t be able to get down to see it.

Just watched the Remembrance Service on BBC. It was stunning, just, well, words aren't enough. Moved me so much. Perfectly executed and so emotional, yet no cloying sentimentality. Just riveted to it. Proud of our City and Nation and all those who have sacrificed for the greater good.

Jeremy Corbyn wearing a fcuking anorak with a hood at the Cenotaph.

I'm still waiting for an appearance from the donkey jacket, he must have one. He still looked better than the fat bastard from the SNP with his legs out though, already put me off my Sunday Lunch.

Lighting a beacon in Ellis Park tonight, I'm looking forward to it.

Went to the Remembrance Parade in Syston.

Was done pleasantly and professionally.

Just in case anyone wasn't aware, They Shall Not Grow Old, the Peter Jackson WW1 documentary, is on BBC2 tonight. It's a stunning and extremely moving film. If you haven't seen it, I cannot recommend watching it enough. A real tribute to the men who lost their lives.

I was reading about that this morning. Looks fascinating.

It's been mentioned on here before but it really is worth spending the time (and it's a marathon, to say the least) to listen to 'Blueprint for Armageddon', from Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast series.

He's brilliant at making you connect with the source material, and give you more of a sense of what events you might've read about a hundred times before were actually like for the participants

I've just had to escort an elderly Sikh couple back to their car after finding them having, "Get back to Muslim Land" screamed at them by three of In-ger-land's finest; the irony of it happening on a day when we commemorate the loss to the gene pool of the flower of British manhood didn't escape me.

Worst of all, the couple had just been to lay a wreath at the War Memorial in remembrance of all who died, including several family members. I am often ashamed to be British, but never more so than today.

Where did this happen? That needs reporting to the police. I'll happily take on the paperwork myself.

Has it been reported to the police?

I doubt that very much.

I didn't know who the couple was, but I do now. I'm familiar with the family by reputation and I'll be surprised if it hasn't already been sorted.

Spent the morning in Sandringham which is always poignant when you remember the many young men (many of whom were just teenagers) from that village that were wiped out at Galllipoli.

Also spent some time reading a Quorn British Legion book my Mum had been keeping which included details of my Great-Grandfather who also saw action in the Dardanelles on the HMS Agamemnon.

Naturally it's always more affecting when the stories involve a family member or someone from your neck of the woods, even though maybe it shouldn't be.

Mental how many people have decided to let themselves get wound up about this and have spent the day attacking Corbyn. We're meant to collectively be remembering the nation's war dead, not judging a fashion show.

Corbyn always looks like a History teacher from the 1980's anyway so nothing unusual about today

And that was entirely my point, collectively we are remembering the dead by showing 'Respect'. You don't turn up at the Cenotaph wearing a fcuking anorak. So an attack no, exasperation yes.

Respect is a subjective thing though, and ultimately I don't think it boils down to what kind of coat someone wears to lay a wreath? I was watching the coverage and I can't claim to really recall what anyone was wearing because I wasn't preoccupied with thinking about that at the time. If someone had turned up in trackies or whatever I'd have probably noticed mind.

Like I say, if people want to spend a day for remembrance fixating on what coat one bloke was wearing then that's their prerogative. I just find it a bit odd.

Sigh.
