Ian Nacho Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 Thought this yesterday. Had a shaky start of the season but has been solid for the last month or so.

Oh and don’t forget Benalouane We also have Hughes, Knight, Pasc and Darnell (if he ups his game) in the academy. Our academy is choc-a-bloc of promising centre halves. And we have Amartey as a decent backup centre half too. Centre half is probably our best covered position in the team. You're right about Maguire. He's kept his runs to a minimum the last few matches due to the opposition and Morgan has looked a lot better.
lcfc sheff Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 Age isn’t an issue if he continues to be crucial in the dressing room and out on the pitch

In this new system we don't see him, or any of the other centre backs, getting exposed for pace or getting booked for tackles in full back areas. Another good reason to applaud the newly adopted playing style. I do agree with this but in fairness, he's been better for a while now. Bar the shambles at Bournemouth, which I thought was tactical suicide from Puel, we've actually defended a lot better this season. I stated it in another thread but we've only conceded one equalising goal all season. Morgan's proven me wrong this season. I thought he was done but he's keeping the others out on merit these days. He's having a good season and fair play to the bloke.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 Since the helicopter accident the bloke has been a hero. Off the pitch he has galvanised the players and shown unbelievable leadership in what must have been the most difficult period of anyone's career. On the pitch he has been a collosus and looked backed to his best and well deserving of being the first name on the teamsheets and being offered a new one year deal. Hope he ends his career with us and will go down as our best ever centre half and captain.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 28 December 2018 Posted 28 December 2018 How he’s not had an England cap is a joke. so said ‘Arry in the papers a few years ago.

Steve Walsh/John Sjoberg/Graham Cross/ Matt Elliot/Frank McClintock - we have had a few tidy CH‘s in our time.
