HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 I looked through a lot of the comments in the ratings thread and others and think they are so unfair on him. we expect Vardy to run on to balls played over the top but I didn’t see one ball played over the top today. So Vardy has to adapt and play a different game. He drops back and creates a distraction and hopes for the through ball. Not what we want to see but that is the team game now. All I noticed was that whenever Vardy felt he could run and win the ball then he ran and he won the ball. The over the top balls from Mahrez and Drinkwater are not happening so I think opinion of Vardy should not be based on the different service he is getting. He is trying to adapt and he is trying. I have a lot of time for him and am glad we have him because without him the opponents defende would feel less threatened.
The whole world smiles Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Played really well today I thought linked play brilliantly doing the job of a number 10 with his back to goal and a number 9 stretching their defence at the same time.
rachhere Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Thought he contributed a lot today personally. Its easy to forget how often he contributes to goals as well because so much focus is on him scoring them himself.
Hanan96 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 There are multiple times ball were playing over the top, mostly from chilwell.
Brainy Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Morgan isn't suited to possession football but that won't stop people having a pop at him will it (I know right now he has other failings too)
fazzyfox Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 He's feeding on crumbs so often he should have dressed as (a) robin instead of Spiderman. Managed to link up a bit more today through his own hard work and coming deeper to be closer to Gray.
shailen Posted 20 January 2019 Posted 20 January 2019 He's an exceptional player. He's still got a decent amount of goals based on very few chances created for him. Even as a link up player he's really good - the assist for Grays goal and the touch for Maddisons goal against Watford - his all round game has improved massively.

Sharp, intelligent, quick, great finisher, great passer too (as illustrated again at Wolves), can dribble, works hard, determined. He is one player I will never criticize. We are indeed lucky to have him. He could have easily done a Kante, Drinkwater or Mahrez and left and earns twice of what he is on - only around 100k a week which for his standard he could easily earn at least double (you can do research to confirm this). So he is also loyal and a committed Fox. I hope he can stay here until he retires no matter when that is - like Giggs at Man Utd or Gerard at Liverpool - even if he drops his standards a bit. We need to show him the loyalty he truly deserves as well. That is all.
KingsX Posted 20 January 2019 Posted 20 January 2019 That time he sprinted back and made a last-minute clearance near the touchline in the second half (after the midfield had let a ball through) was a heroic little play today. He's still giving it up for LCFC, always will.
desertfox2 Posted 20 January 2019 Posted 20 January 2019 It's really not easy playing up top in the formation we are playing. A strikers nightmare. He has adapted very well though.
Dan Posted 20 January 2019 Posted 20 January 2019 Quite honestly I feel like we're wasting the best striker outside the top six. Not playing to his strengths and restricting him.
