"Claude Puel came under further criticism from Leicester City fans " Because we all know that they're a reliable source and their criticism is based on an accurate and deep understanding of the game. "Furthermore, on paper, Puel’s style is not what necessarily suits Maddison. His side play a lot deeper than what Maddison was used to at Norwich, looking to counter sides and relying upon Jamie Vardy to lead the line and chase down long balls over the top of opposition’s defences." Yeah, no. That isn't exactly what Puel has in mind. We use the counter only against (better) teams who attack and we first and foremost play a possession based football with a classic 10 and overlapping fullbacks, even if it's not very effective right now. The primary idea behind it is to have the ball, control the game and stretch the defensive line with the FBs, not surrendering possession and then hit and hope. Maddison is one of our best players and a great asset for the future. If he doesn't play the 90 minutes, it maybe has something to do with him being not fit enough to play a full game. Furthermore the attacking players are the most susceptible of being taken off depending on the game's flow and the score. That's how it fvcking is since the substitutions were introduced to the game. No mention of the knock Maddison got in the first half, no mention of him starting to fade away and the necessity of trying something different, no mention Ghezzal's good work despite the boos. Seems legit.

Stunning free kick, some great chasing back, some decent skill too. All this after being booed onto the field. On this forum he's been written off far too fast. Against Newport, if our senior players had played with the same attitude we'd have won easily. It looks like he really cares and is determined to succeed....in spite of him already being dissed on here as rubbish. Just wish Nacho would show the same attitude. He did good no doubt despite a couple of hiccups where he lost the ball with his head down. He did far far better than previous performances - he really did. But to say he was the best player in the pitch is disingenuous and slightly insane buddy.
Nick Posted 5 February 2019 Posted 5 February 2019 Can we agree in this thread that 99% of fans support the players? And the real problem is that 50% + don’t support the manager? Then we might be able to get closer to the actual issues rather than blanket idiotic statements about how all the ‘Puel dissatisfied’ people feel, behave and are ignorant of.

Obviously Ghezzal was not the best player on the pitch, but for 30 minutes he put in more effort, will to win, application, passion and no little skill, than any other player out there, including the Man Ure players. For this alone, it made him the best player out there. It's what I want to see from EVERY Leicester City player. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one! Maybe we could agree that if Nacho showed a fraction of the passion, and determination to succeed as Ghezzal is showing, there might be a player in there somewhere?

But but it's my right to boo as I've paid my money therefore I'm entitled to boo decisions I don't understand. In fact I boo whenever I don't understand stuff. I read a brief history of time the other day. Bood all the way through it. It's my right. I wore my underpants on my head to work yesterday BECAUSE ITS MY RIGHT! Actually I'm lying. I don't have a job. I just wore my underpants on my head all day.

You are missing the point a bit here. Our atmosphere at home is turning sour because the majority of our fans only watch us at home and for the last year we have won a quarter of our home games. Thankfully our away form under Puel is good, because we would be bang in trouble if not. It's also a bit of a kop out to excuse our home form because we are doing well away from home, I'd argue that your home ground is your bread and butter and if you go over a year with it seemingly getting worse then you're asking for serious questions to be thrown at you. Anyway, I'm quietly confident that Tielemans will be the key to improving this short term.
waylander Posted 6 February 2019 Posted 6 February 2019 Really enjoyed the game we look increasingly good against the better teams. Time and patience will see us get better against the 11 man wall of other team . Well done to chillwell for speaking out .
