STATEMENT

Rovers can confirm, ahead of the HMRC hearing in the High Court tomorrow, that following professional advice, the company has had no choice but to apply to go into administration, as it will be unable to trade it's way out of the present situation, due to the level of debt it currently has.

 

The club has therefore, through its legal advisors, today made an application to court, for a hearing at which we hope to be granted an Administration Order and we are now awaiting a date for that hearing.

 

This will enable the Winding Up Petition to be adjourned tomorrow and will allow our professional representatives to take the necessary steps to properly deal with the affairs of the company moving forward.

 

It is a regrettable course of action for all concerned, but ultimately, the only course of action available.

 

We continue to be in dialogue with the RFL regarding a new club participating in the league and cup structure for 2026 and will keep fans updated on all of these matters as things progress.

Did mean to send my condolences about the sad outcome of this.Really need Featherstone up and running again asap.

It sounds like there are trying to keep parts of the club running, so they can keep the Womens and academy team going. 

 

No idea who's going to be taking on the club, but they are trying to get it sorted out to be able to join again next season.

Superb result for Hull HR, and by association, The Super League.      3rd time in a row English champions have beaten Australian champions.

Couldn’t believe that scoreline? I’m guessing KR had been on the beers all week. It should be a good season. All the traditionally good teams look to have improved over the off season. York have picked up some superb results too.

Some unbelievable games on yesterday. The saints Wigan finish was as good as I’ve seen, the atmosphere looked electric on tv too.

The atmosphere at some of the games is fantastic.   It's like old-fashioned 1970's football, without the hooliganism.   

 

Terraces, drinking beer, lots of rude songs ... what's not to like?

 

I've been to a couple of Super League games this season so far.   Got a few more lined up over the summer.

Hopefully a few "neutrals" got to see the Wakefield v Wigan match on BBC1 yesterday.    Great game and a cracking atmosphere.

LCFC flirting with financial ruin and Scarlets RFC might not exist in a couple years time. 

 

Expecting our first kid in January so figured I should start scouting around for alternative entertainment. 

 

Went to my first League match yesterday, Rhinos Bulls derby. Solid day out to be fair, enjoyed myself. I doubt the dubious pleasure of watching a 40 minute Pat Sharp set comes with every ticket but still.

My adopted team saints (used to live in Liverpool) are struggling this season. Never failed to reach the play offs but it’s great to see Wakefield do so well.

Going to be one of those seasons where the play offs get overshadowed by the league. Wigan play Leeds just before the end of the season at Headingly.

It’s the Rugby league World Cup this Autumn so you’d think they would want maximum exposure to the TV audience but no apparently the tournament is going to be on Premier sports .

 

Fans up in arms and basically saying it’s going to mean hardly anyone watching etc .
