Anyone got one in their home? Garden Shed/Man Cave?

I'm potentially going to get a lean to built on the side of my house, has anyone ever kept them outside like this and does the cloth stay good?

I plan to get one when I get a house.

You need about an 18ft by 16ft space though, which is huge. Even at a minimum probably 17ftx14ft. A lean to might not be enough

My mate has one is a huge shed and he reckons it's fine, he just puts the heater on before he goes in

On a regular table the cloth should be fine if it's kept dry but the wood can warp pretty bad if the temperature changes rapidly.

If you buy an outdoor style table you shouldn't have any problems if you cover it when not in use.

The cloth is Wool so it will suffer from moisture even if under a Canopy. It may not be visible to the naked eye but will effect the role of the balls.

It's microscopic balls of water held by the Wool.

I'd make sure to cover the cloth with a sheet of Polystyrene then a cover over that again. Then you should be fine.

The naked she often does.

Tip 1 - Dont (youll stop using it about 6 months later... then its just a pest)

Tip 2  - Get a slate base, wood bukles too easily
Tip 3 - Dont :)

My bowls club had one, a proper slate bed pub version, weighed a ton.  It was kept outside in a sheltered area and was covered and it was fine.  If you are looking to get one like this there were a lot of decent second hand ones around from pubs that were closing down.  It was more expensive to buy the lifting mechanism than the pool table.

The club did (for a year) have a cheaper version that didn't have a slate bed, that was kept indoors but within a few months the wood had started to warp and the balls no longer ran true on the table, rendering it useless.

You’d just need a table cover mate to preserve the cloth. They’re easily made or you can get them online. Slate beds are better as mentioned.
