Southampton - A Must WIN Home game

Recommended Posts

It will defo be a tricky game but our defense has been playing well just lately so i fancy our chances

^^you know what saddens me...

the fact i just read that and instantly thought no way, we cant score twice in one game :(

still id love to see a couple of city goals.

I can see it being an open game, simply because Southampton won't be interested in frustrating the hell out of us. Redknapp will believe his side is stronger, so they'll go for it, which will benefit us. However, another draw probably - an eventful 1-1.

Well, again I agree with Scowy. I think a draw is on the cards. I just hope it's a score one so that we get some excitement...and that we are the ones who score last.

i havent payed much attention to the S'hoton team/squad this season but i hear that Theo Wallcott is something special and only 16 but will Harry play him against us? it'll be interesting because we havent yet played a "fall from grace" team. i think it will be a tight game and again probably 1-1. i'd take that result (or any other draw) but 3 points would be a huge boost.

I remember a "must win game" we had at home against Southampton a few years ago that we lost 4-0. First and only City game I left early through sheer depression and frustration! I'm hoping for a reverse of that score line but would take a 1-0 in the last minute. Going to be a tough game but at least Southampton will have a go which bizarrely will benefit us. We can't play against teams who come here, play 4-5-1 and sit back as we don't have the guile in the squad to break them down. A good open game with some space for Smith, Sylla, Hume and Williams and I reckon we've got it in us to look a decent team. So 4-0 with Hume (2), Smith and McArthy providing the sparklers and rockets (see what I've done there with the fireworks link.... I'll get my coat!)

I would expect to see Wallcott on as a sub Systonfox, if at all. I dont think Harry will want to start him against a side like us we have to many players who could outmusle him.

Really looking foward to this game now, I'm getting a bit of a big game buzz! Amungst all this talking we have forgetten to mention Dennis willy puller Wise is prolly going to make another walkers apperance. Nothing gets the walkers jumping like Dennis wise in my experince :-).

I don't know for predictions. in many ways Southampton play somthing like Watford. and we had the beating of them beacuse we can play against open teams. They do tend to draw alot of games though, as we have sometimes been known to!

Either way Its a game I think we should win If we play well.

Just out of interest who are you referring to, I can't actually think of that many?

Well David it depends on who we play. Tiatto, Mcarthy, arent really ones to turn down a bit of tussle are they. Sylla is quite strong IMO likes to throw his weight around a bit, Dions Strong abliet slow.

Its not really so much about all over our players being rock hard, its more of the fact that we arent exactly a small side in physhical precense, and Wallcott is 16

Craig hinted that Dublin would start, Hopefully an open game as if other team played negative tatics LCFC would just get sucked in by them and end up palying cagey but if saints decide to attack LCFC have no choice but to attack too from my rare games that I watch LCFC 1-0 Derby last season is one of them and I remember Derby opted to attack furiously and LCFC responded same way and ended up getting all three points COME ON THE FOXES!

I also went to that match and the bizarre thing is I remember at the time I had an awful chest infection. You will be pleased to hear that currently I have an equally nasty chest infection (the first chest infection i've had since that 4-0 pasting if I rightly remember) let's hope that isn't a sign of tomorrow's result.

I personally think we are due an absolute pasting or due giving a team a pasting of our own.

He's started the last 3 matches and scored 3, he was also in the starting line-up for the game against Palace that was called off. So chances are he'll be playing against us.

Possibly, I just dont think they will play him Ric TBH. Well from the start at least. I might be wrong.

If he does start its very important he gets ruffed up. lollollol Let him know his in for hard afternoon.

Very much agreed.

Me too this should be an entertaining game and i doubt there won't be an atmosphere especially with a certain someone returning  lets get behind the lads!! Hume will be our key player tomorrow!

Entertainment?

Atmosphere?

Some people don't want too much!! lol

We WILL win, I just think it will be too open for it to be dull, the Cov game just had that feel about it too. We are shite when teams come just to frustate us but when teams let us play (which I think Southampton will) we play better.
